Please join the Prayer Campaign, the 54 day Novena
for our Nation Everyone from around the Nation is encouraged to join ranks as, united, we pray the very
powerful 54 Day Rosary Novena from the Feast of the Assumption on August 15th to the
Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on October 7th.
It is often not enough to just “offer a prayer,” and then retreat to our “spiritually weak”
worldly lives. This is why so many from around the world were shocked to find their
prayers unanswered. They calculated that a singular prayer campaign, amidst a profoundly
diminished Christianity, would be enough. No! We must dedicate ourselves to become
“spiritually strong” again! - Father Rick Heilman
This very special and powerful prayer will be prayed at St. Casimir at 7:30pm each night.

From the Heart by Fr. Fasnacht
“I am the LORD, there is no other, there is no God besides me. It is I who
arm you, though you do not know me, so that all may know, from the rising of the
sun to its setting, that there is none besides me. I am the LORD, there is no
other.” Is 45:5-6
It is fascinating to watch our culture change and shift so rapidly away from God.
According to a 2013 poll, 23% of Americans do not identify with any religion. They
are known as the “nones,” because they select ‘none’ when asked which religion they
belong to.
We live in a time and place where more and more people are choosing to drift away
from God because they are too spiritually lazy. Most don’t want to be athiests; but they
also don’t want to take on the hard work and suffering of being a devout Christian
either. So they choose to be “spiritual but not religious.” What does that mean? It means
they are the boss not God. They go to church when they want to and they choose which
commandments they will follow. They want God to be in their life a little bit; when
they want him. When they don’t “need” him anymore, they ignore him. To them, God
is like candy: pick and choose the type of God you want, when you want. The problem
for the person who is “spiritual but not religious” however, is that some day they will
have to stand before the judge.
I believe that the biggest reason for our societies spiritual demise is affluence.
Wealth is extremely difficult on the spiritual life of the human person. This is why our
Lord said, “It is easier for a camel to walk through the eye of a needle, than for one
who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.” Mt 19:24
So what can we do? What should we watch out for? First, we must make sure that
we, ourselves are not slipping into spiritual laziness. Second, we must pray and live
very holy lives. Holiness is what attracts others back to God. Jesus is the path that we
must take.
God bless,
Fr. Matt Fasnacht
