Solid Brass BodyAll Trevi valves have a solid-cast brass body.Whybrass? Because it’s durable and reliable.This,inaddition to precision-engineered parts suchas the casings for the ceramic disc cartridges,thermostat and non-return valves,means a Trevishower never fails to deliver.Our commitmentto quality is unrivalled.

Thermostatic Cartridge Our thermostatic wax capsule cartridge ismanufactured to the highest standards,with a solid brass outer and a shuttle that ensuresprecision temperature control.The shuttleregulates the mixture of hot and cold water in the mixing chamber of the valve.If either the hotor cold water supply fails,the shuttle closes therelevant port within 1.5 seconds,therebypreventing the risk of scalding.Pivoted on aunique,patented rubber membrane whichallows it to move freely,even when limescale hashardened around the cartridge,the result is amarket leading,maintenance-free thermostaticshower valve,making Trevi shower valves true “fitand forget”products.

Ceramic Disc The ceramic discs used in Trevi valves are themost efficient and reliable way of ensuring aconsistent and precise water flow.What’s more,all our products are drip-free and resistant to thebuild up of limescale which affects performance.The smooth,easy to turn operation of ceramicdisc cartridges adds to the quality feel that issynonymous with Trevi.

Non Return Valves Non return valves (NRVs) conventionally preventwater crossing over from the cold to hot watersupply,which can cause the hot water tank toflood.NRVs also prevent water from being drawnup from the handset and back into the mainssupply which leads to contamination.Our TTcollection NRVs are reversible,so if the hot andcold supply pipes have been plumbed-in thewrong way,you simply reverse the NRVs.Thatmeans no need to re-plumb,therefore savingboth time and money.

Twin Sealing System Sealing System One • This is a conventional water-proof foam type

seal which is incorporated into the face platesealing gasket

• When the face plate is screwed on to the valvethe seal is compressed and forms a flexible sealover uneven surfaces

Choosing your showerThe good news is that anyone with a hot and cold water supply can have a Trevi shower.

Firstly identify the way in which water is heated and circulated in your house...

then select the style of shower and kind of shower experience you want...

This is the most common type of heatingsystem.To create the shower pressure,water flows directly from a cold watertank (cistern) in your loft to a hot watertank (cylinder) in your airing cupboard.The greater the distance from the bottomof the tank to the top of the showerhead,the better your shower will perform.

A combi-boiler heats your water upas soon as you turn the shower or hot tapon.It’s often located in the kitchen andsupplies water at high pressure.Usuallythis system has a water pressure ofbetween 1 bar (equivalent to 10 metresbetween the bottom of a cold watertank to the top of the showerhead) and 5 bar.

This system stores hot water underpressure in a large cylinder,which isusually found in an airing cupboardor garage.You can identify it by theexpansion vessel on top of the cylinderand the absence of a cold water tank.Sometimes,in a refurbished property,an unused cold water tank will be left in place.

Essentially a gravity-fed system,but withthe addition of a booster pump,water isdelivered to your shower at high pressurefor better performance.The waterpressure will depend on the pump,but inmost cases this will be 1-3 bar.You mayneed to increase the capacity of yourhot and cold water tanks.

GlossaryThermostatic Mixer ShowerTo maintain a constant temperature without having tocontinuously adjust the hot and cold water inlets,thermostaticshower valves are the only option.All Trevi thermostatic mixershowers* utilise a temperature sensitive wax cartridge whichmaintains the water temperature to within +/- 1 degree andensures that the temperature and pressure is automaticallycontrolled,preventing cold water shock or hot water scalding.*excludes Tradition Exposed

Manual Mixer ShowerSingle lever control with hot and cold inlet and mixed wateroutlet.Manual mixer showers do not compensate for variationsin water temperature and pressure.

Venturi Mixer ShowerHigh pressure mains cold water is used to “pull through”tankpressure water through the special venturi valve inside theshower control,so the resulting mixed water comes out at amuch greater rate than could be achieved using an electricshower or ordinary shower mixer valve.

Gives excellent showering performance in conditions that are often deemed unsuitable for conventional thermostaticshowers e.g.guest rooms,en-suites,attic bathrooms etc.Idealalternative for electric shower.

Ceramic Disc CartridgeThe Ceramic Disc Cartridge was developed by Ideal Standardand is the modern way to control water flow.There are nowashers to wear and drip.A robust housing contains ceramicdiscs which control the flow of water through the fitting.Trevivalves which contain a ceramic disc cartridge are drip freeand impervious to lime deposits.

In-Line ValveThe ceramic disc technology integrated in the base of ourMoonshadow slide rail,allows simultaneous use of the fixedoverhead and handset.

Built-in shower valveThe shower valve body and water pipes are fitted (or chased)into the wall with the control faceplate and handles mountedonto the wall surface.i.e there is no visible pipework.

Exposed Shower ValveThis refers to a shower installation where the valve is installed ontop of the finished wall surface (e.g.tiles).

DiverterA diverter can be fitted to multiple water outlet systems todirect the flow of water between the outlet sources e.g.between handset and body jets.

Flow ControlLike a diverter,a flow control can be fitted to multiple wateroutlet systems to control the flow of water between the outletsources but does not redirect the water like a diverter.

Body JetDirectional jets that spray water and can be added to anyTrevi valve on a high pressure or pumped gravity system toenhance your home showering experience.

Water PressurePressure is the force that pushes through pipes.Water pressuredetermines the flow of water from the shower valve to theshowerhead.If pressure is not sufficient then the flow canreduce to a trickle,the addition of a pump is recommended in cases of very low water pressure.

Minimum PressureThis is the amount of water pressure required so that the shower fitting you have chosen performs adequately,thewater pressure within your home depends on the plumbingsystem that you have installed.As a guide low pressure gravityfed systems have less than 1.0 bar pressure,high pressuresystems such as combination boilers tend to operate atgreater than 1.0 bar.

Maximum PressureThe maximum pressure stated for your chosen shower fittingis its safe operating pressure.If this pressure is exceeded thenall guarantees on your Trevi shower fitting are void as this maydamage the fitting.

BarA unit of measurement for water pressure.0.1 bar = 1.0 metrevertical outlet distance between the shower outlet and baseof cold water tank.
