TRELONK OILSC I R C U L A R E C O N O M Y & E N V I R O N M E N T A L G R O W T H
INTRODUCTIONThe project centres on the concept of producing nutrient-dense foodfrom nutraceutical seeds within a closed-loop circular economyframework, evidencing zero-waste (through nutrient recapturing)and driving diversification of the rural economy.
In order to achieve this, the applicant applied for a Tevi grant to funda seed-press. The seed-press currently represents the missing linkbetween the primary production of the oilseed materials, and theretailing of end-products where most of the value-added is.
IMPACT SUMMARYTrelonk are managing niche, nutrient dense oil seed materials forthe purpose of harvesting their essential oils, through cold pressing. These specialist oils will then be used for nutraceutical andcosmetic applications and they have been chosen according tostrict environmental criteria.
In summary, Trelonk are a landowner aiming to diversify awayfrom traditional agriculture, with a real focus on long-termsustainability through the emphasis on secondary and tertiaryproduction within a circular economy, driving diversification andenvironmental growth.
