by Kandalintseva Darya

Scandinavia is considered to be the northern European

peninsula that includes the countries of Norway,

Sweden, Denmark. Sometimes

Finland, Iceland and Greenland are also

included.

WHERE IS SCANDINAVIA

Translates to “Troll Tongue”. It is situated about 1100 meters above sea level, hovering 700 meters above

lake. The hike goes through the high mountains, takes 10-12 hours.

TROLLTUNGA, NORWAY

The route was originally proposed as a railway line in the early 20th century, but this was abandoned.

Today the road is preserved as a cultural heritage site and is classified as a National Tourist Route.

EXPLORE SANDY BEACHES

IN SCANDINAVIA

Scandinavia may not be known for beach vacations,

but there are beautiful sandy beaches in Scandinavia nonetheless! With the

weather in Scandinavia, the best time for a beach visit is

late June through late August.

KJERAG, NORWAY

This crazy boulder is wedged between two cliffs and has been

there since the beginning of time. Tourists hike to the

boulder and muscle up enough courage to jump out onto it for

a quick photo.

AURORA BOREALISCommonly known as

“The Northern Lights” and appears around the magnetic north

pole. The best places to see the Northern

Lights in Scandinavia are the northern areas

in Norway, Sweden, and Finland. The best time of the year to see the Northern Lights is between October and April because of the

lack of sun.

Get closer to the natural atmosphere of Scandinavia than ever before at Sweden’s ICEHOTEL. It’s the

world’s largest hotel built entirely out of snow and ice. You can find these creative quarters in the small

town of Jukkasjärvi.

ICEHOTEL IN JUKKASJÄRVI, SWEDEN

Enjoy the comforts and grandeur of a refurbished castle.

The castle hotel has some of the most

relaxing accommodations in

the country. And it’s all accentuated

by the soothing sounds of the

nearby rapids of the Vuoksi River.

CASTLE HOTEL OF IMATRA, FINLAND

The idea behind The Juvet Landscape Hotel in Norway is to bring visitors as close to the area’s natural beauty as

possible. With a modern and open design, staying at this hotel feels almost like camping in the Norwegian treetops.
