Travel safety is often looked, and no matter how

prepared you think you are, you’ll eventually fall for

some sort of travel scam.

People spent little time researching about traveling

safety. Therefore, by creating an app that make

travel safety information convenient to obtain will

greatly benefit to many travelers.

When it come to asking question about traveling and the type of planning they will do before the trip. I sent out my survey via google doc. to all my co worker at my office. Everyone travel, but it’s important for me to find out what is the travel pattern betweek age group and grop sizes.

Many people I interview plan their trip around family, especially those that has kids.

Because most traveler like to travel light, mobile are the most popular choice.

Most will decide on the severity of the issues.

The younger generation plan their trip mostly with friends.

With bigger screen size it’s more easier to make compairsion.

Half of the people wish they did some kind of safety research before they made the trip.

Only a few person get their travel inspiration from web or magazine.

I started my research with interviews. I interviewed 4 type of

travelers, the business travlers, the couples travlers, the family

travelers and the group travelers (4 person or more).

Then I went to the airport and observe what each type of travelers

will do in an airport.

For my research I try to find out how many traveler will do

researches on safety before they travel to their destinations. And

what device they use while they travel and what device they use

when doing the researches.

I learned that people will only do research on safety when they have extra time, and often time it’s the

least priority on their to do list. I also learned when a person is traveling alone, they are more likely to

do some researches on safety on the place in advance. I am some what surprised that almost 90% of

people do their booking of accomodation and airfare with a laptop of computer, my guess was

50% computer and 30% tablet and 20% mobile.

The Assumptions I had prior to my research was there should be atleast

40% of traveler out there doing researches on travel safety. However,

I was wrong, only 2/10 person i interview said they spent maybe 30

min. on travel safety researches. Most of their researches was on food,

attraction, hotel and airfare.
