1) Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Trek Description

Day 1: Start your Private Inca Trail Adventure Estimated hiking distance: 7.5 miles/12 kilometers Estimated hiking time: six hours

This morning you are picked up by your guide from your hotel, and start with a smooth ride through the spectacular sacred valley of the Incas, after a three-hour ride we arrive at the trailhead at Km 82, where we meet our Inca trail crew of porters and Cook.

We start with a six-hour hike on a well-marked path, enjoying the eucalyptus groves, outstanding views of Urubamba River, the Vilcanota Mountain Range, the snow-capped peak of Veronica (19,102 ft./5,822m.) and the agricultural terraces in the Inca complex of Llaqtapata.

Day 2: Dead Woman’s Pass and Pacaymayo Estimated hiking distance: 7 miles/11 kilometers Estimated hiking time: eight hours

Today may be the most challenging day of your Inca trail adventure, we will climb steeply almost 4,000 feet (1,220 meters), but no worries your guide and Inca trail crew will ensure you have a safe and unique experience.

Before setting off on our second day on the Inca trail, we will have a nutritious breakfast that will give us sufficient fuel and energy to reach the top of the Dead Woman’s Pass (13,780 feet/4,200 meters). If you need to push yourself, keep an eye on the prize, there are no words to describe the overwhelming sense of

accomplishment that you will feel when reaching the top of the Dead Woman’s Pass. You will have breathtaking views of the thick forest, snowcapped peaks and the Inca trail.

After crossing the Dead Woman’s Pass, we start descending along a rock stepped trail to Pacaymayo valley (11,810 feet/3,600 meters), our campsite for tonight.

Day 3: Amazing Andean scenery on the Royal Inca trail. Estimated hiking distance: 10 miles/16 kilometers Estimated hiking time: eight hours

Today, we will have to reach only two mountain passes, cross the cloud forest and visit amazing Inca sites.

After a hearty breakfast, we set off on our third day on the Inca trail. We start with a one-hour climb to the circular ruins of Runkurakay, it is believed it was a resting place for Incan couriers during Inca times. After visiting this Inca site, we climb for almost one hour towards Runkurakay Pass (12,960 feet/3,950 meters) here we will have amazing views of the snowcapped peaks of Vilcabamba mountain range.

We continue our hike down to Sayacmarca, known as the “inaccessible town”, a well preserved mysterious Inca complex (11,772 feet/3,588 meters), nobody knows exactly what this Inca site was built for but we will enjoy it much.

The trail climbs down to the valley floor, and we enjoy the beautiful orchids while walking on the Inca road. The trail starts to climb again, we pass through the Inca tunnel that traverses solid rock. After passing the tunnel, the trail leads up to the third pass, we reach Phuyupatamarka (12,140 feet/3,700 meters), you will have a great opportunity to enjoy stunning views of Salkantay and Veronica Snowcapped Mountains.

After crossing our third mountain Pass, we arrive in the “Cloud-Level Town” of Phuyupatamarka , one of the most impressive archaeological Inca centers.

Finally, we camp near Wiñaywayna (8,829 feet/2,691 meters), the most spectacular archaeological complex of the entire Inca Trail.

Day 4: Machu Picchu Estimated hiking distance: 2.5 miles/4 kilometers Estimated hiking time: four hours

Today, we will wake up very early, have another hearty breakfast and head to the “Sun Gate” where we will enjoy our first sight of the “lost city” of Machu Picchu. You may want to spend some time sitting and overlooking Machu Picchu!

Then, we hike down for just one hour and arrive in Machu Picchu, one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites on earth!

Private Machu Picchu Tour

You will enjoy a guided tour of the most amazing Inca city in the Americas and learn about the history of this site. You will have some insight into the various features of this sacred city and have free time to enjoy yourself!

After enjoying Machu Picchu, you will board the bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will board the train back to Cusco.

2) Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Trek Description

Day 1: Morning train from Cusco to Km 104 Estimated hiking distance: 7 miles/11 kilometers Estimated hiking time: seven hours

Early morning, you are picked up from your hotel and driven to the train station to board your train to Km 104.

Private Short Inca Trail

Upon arrival at Km 104, the starting point of your short Inca trail trek to Machu Picchu, we cross the foot bridge over the Vilcanota River, pass the checkpoint (you need to show your passport), and start our adventure on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

Our first stop will be by the Inca’s Ruins of Chachabamba, it is believed that this place was an important religion site and a guardhouse to control the access to Machu Picchu. After visiting Chachabamba, we embark on a four-hour uphill hike to Wiñaywayna Ruins, the largest and most amazing Inca site of the Inca Trail, here you will have enough time to explore its terraces, houses and enjoy the magic scenery.

After lunch, we continue our hike through the cloud-forest until reaching the stone threshold of Inti Punku, known as “The Sun Gate” due to it was the main entrance to Machu Picchu during the Inca Period. It is located at an altitude of 2,745 (9,005 feet) above the sea level and offers you a unique chance to enjoy the most beautiful picture of Machu Picchu. We arrive in the “Hidden City” of Machu Picchu late in the afternoon and board the bus to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) where you will stay overnight. Tomorrow, you will return to Machu Picchu for your private tour of the most amazing Inca Site!

Day 2: Machu Picchu

After a very early breakfast, you will be met by your guide and have a 25-minute bus journey to Machu Picchu where your private English-speaking guide will embark you on an adventure of a lifetime that brings you back to the 15th century.

3) Trek to Choquequirao, the other Machu Picchu

Trek Description

Day 1: Cusco - Cachora - Chiquisca Hotel pick-up time: 05:45 am. Estimated hiking distance: 6 miles/10 kilometers Estimated hiking time: eight hours

This morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive to San Pedro de Cachora, a small Andean village located at 2,800 meters (9,190 feet) above sea level and three-hour ride from Cusco, our trek to Choquequirao will start here.

Private Trek to Choquequirao

Upon arrival in San Pedro de Cachora, we will meet our wranglers and have the equipment and packs on mules and horses to start this unique and great adventure, today the hike will take approximately 8 hours! After a three-hour hike, we will arrive at Capuliyoc pass located at 2,750 meters (9,022 feet) above sea level, here we will have amazing views of the Apurimac River and Canyon surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains and have our first views of the Cradle of gold.

After lunch, we continue our hike to Chiquisca located at 1,990 meters (6,530 feet) above sea level, where our tents will be set up to spend the night.

After an early consistent breakfast, we start our trek to Choquequirao, today we will need to make our best effort; it may be the hardest part of the whole trek because we will have downhill and uphill hikes! Our first hour is not hard, we will descend to Apurimac River which we will cross through its hanging bridge located at 1,550 meters (5,085 feet) above sea level, now we will start hiking uphill, after two hours of hike we will reach Santa Rosa located at 2,115 meters (6,940 feet) above sea level where we will take a break, we will have the chance to take pictures of orchids and Andean birds! We cannot spend much time here, because the Sun can make us feel extra tired! We continue our uphill hike for extra three hours arriving in Marampata located at 2,850 meters (9,350 feet) above sea level, our closest camp site to Choquequiraro. Here we will have our tents set up and enjoy a delicious lunch; then we will take a well-deserved rest, we will wait until the next day to enjoy our visit to Choquequirao.

Finally, it is time to visit Choquequirao, the last Refuge of the Inca Empire!

After breakfast, we will have a two-hour hike to Choquequirao located at 3,078 meters (10,100 feet) above sea level; here we will have a guided tour of this amazing Inca Complex which was never found by the Spanish Conquistadores!

After exploring the Cradle of gold, we will return to Marampata, our camp site where we will enjoy our dinner and spend the night in our tents.

Day 4: Marampata - Santa Rosa - Chiquisca Estimated hiking distance: 7.5 miles/12 kilometers Estimated hiking time: six hours

After Breakfast, we will start our hike back to Chiquisca descending to the Apurimac River, on the way we will pass through Santa Rosa, Playa Rosalina and then we will arrive in Chiquisca where we will have our tents set up and enjoy a delicious lunch; then we will take a well-deserved rest.

After our last breakfast of the trek, we will start our hike back to San Pedro de Cachora passing through Capuliyoc Pass located at 2,914 meters (9,560 feet) above sea level arriving in Cachora in the afternoon; then we will have a short car journey to the thermal waters of Qonoq where we can refresh after these five days of hiking, then we will drive back to Cusco.

This morning or afternoon, you are picked up from your hotel and embark on a memorable experience visiting the beautiful city of Cusco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site!

You tour starts with a smooth walk to the main attractions of this Inca city, its main square known as Plaza de Armas, then the Cusco Cathedral which construction started in 1559 and has an impressive unique collection of more than 400 paintings from Cusco school made during the 16th and 17th century. Next, you walk through the narrow Inca streets close the Plaza and appreciate the massive Inca walls which are the foundations of Cusco city.

Your tour includes a visit to the most impressive Inca temples, Koricancha, which is known as the temple of the sun. During the Inca time, the walls of this temple were lined in sheets of solid gold and its courtyard was decorated with statues and ornaments of gold! You tour includes a visit to Santo Domingo Church built by the Spanish colonists.

After visiting the city of Cusco, we will head to Sacsayhuaman, an amazing Inca fortress which main walls perfectly fitted, were built with massive stones. You will learn more about the Incas’ secrets, we continue to

This morning or afternoon, you are picked up from your hotel and have a 20-minute drive to the ranch located on the outskirts of Cusco to start your horseback riding adventure.

We head to the Devil’s balcony, a huge colorful rock that looks like a balcony, and then we continue our ride to the X-zone where we will find some amazing caves and enjoy a great view of Sacsayahuaman walls!

Finally, our ride ends at the temple of the moon, a mysterious and energetic archaeological site located on the outskirts of Cusco.

Your tour starts with a smooth drive through the valley of the Incas, on the way you will enjoy the stunning views of snow-capped mountains, green hills, and the beautiful fields of Giant corns, potatoes, beans and wheat.

Your guide will show you the highlights of the Inca Ruins of Pisac and then continue with a visit to the famous Pisac Market, here you can see the local families selling their products and handicraft. The trip includes visits to Quechua colorful villages like Yucay and Ollantaytambo where you will be able to interact with the locals and learn about their ancient customs and traditions.

Whitewater rafting on the Urubamba River Please notice this tour may start from Cusco or the sacred valley

This morning you will be driven to Pachar village the starting point of our whitewater rafting adventure on the Urbamba River.

Upon arrival, all participants will be given a safety briefing by our river guide. The briefing touch on paddling commands, capsize drills and actions when overboard; participants will be provided with Helmets, wetsuits, splash jackets and personal flotation device.

Once everyone is ready, we start with a quick practice on the calm parts of the river, our adventure starts on easy water surrounded by beautiful mountains and archaeological remains, then we head to Ollantaytambo and its amazing Inca terraces, on the way we will enjoy class II-III rapids and finish by “El Resbaladero” (The Slide), a great class III rapid that includes waves and small whirlpools. 1) Tambopata Reserve Tour

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Posada Amazonas

Upon arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport, you are met by our representative, who will be holding a sign with your name, and driven to Rainforest Expeditions office, where you will register, enjoy a refreshing fruit drink and leave your excess luggage in the office storage, until your return to the airport to board your flight to Cusco. Then you will be driven to Tambopata River port, located 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Puerto Maldonado, in the native community of El Infierno. From here you travel by boat through Tambopata River for almost one hour upstream to Posada Amazonas Lodge.

Upon arrival at Posada Amazonas, the lodge staff will welcome you and provide you with an introductory briefing and security tips.

Canopy Tower

This afternoon you will have a 20-minute walk to an observation tower and have the chance to enjoy amazing views of the Amazon treetops, Tambopata River, monkeys, flocks of parrots flying and even a few macaws and toucans!

In the evening, you can attend a lecture about ecotourism given by a Posada Amazonas Staff.

Day 2: Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake - Parrot Clay Lick - Ethnobotanical Tour – Sunset Cruise

This morning we set off on a thirty-minute boat ride and then have a walk for almost forty-five minutes to Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake into Tambopata National Reserve. You will enjoy a great day on board a catamaran searching for the Giant River Otters, Caimans, Hoatzin, horned screamers and birds.

Your morning continues with a birdwatching activity, a twenty-minute walk from Posada Amazonas will lead you to a Parrot Clay Lick; from a blind located only twenty meters from the Clay Lick, you will observe parrots and parakeets eating the clay on a river bank, however there is a chance to see other birds like Mealy and Yellow- headed Amazon, Blue-headed Parrot and Dusky Headed-Parakeet.

After lunch, you will embark on a twenty-minute boat ride down river to Ñape Center, a communal organization that uses rainforest plants for healing many diseases. You will visit the community garden of medicinal plants and learn about the different treatments for diseases like cancer.

This afternoon, your guide will take you on two-hour relaxing boat ride on the Tambopata River. Your guide will talk about the dynamics of this Amazonian river as you watch for rainforest wildlife and see macaws fly overhead before enjoying the jungle sunset.

In the evening, you may have a hike in the forest to look for frogs and some mammals.

VI) How to Book

Our service is provided in three stages.

Stage one: Pre-travel experience

We will respond all your questions very quick, and provide you with the most updated and relevant information.

1. We will listen to you and work together to design the best travel itinerary that suits your clients’ exact needs and requirements.

2. After setting up the travel itinerary, we will email it to you including hotel names, train and flight service details and price.

3. If your clients are happy with the itinerary, we will email the reservation form to be filled out with your clients’ full information to confirm the full itinerary, and arrange the tour deposit (Bank wire transfer or Credit card payment).

*If your clients are not happy yet with the itinerary, we will design a new one.

4. 48 hours after receiving the tour deposit, a full confirmation will be emailed to you with your company logo and the tour preparation information.

5. The tour balance will be processed thirty days prior the tour starts.

Stage two: Travel experience

We are committed to operate our service in an outstanding way. From the moment, your clients touch down at Lima International Airport until flying back home, you can be assured that they are in our safe and knowledgeable hands.

1. Welcome to Peru! Upon arrival at Lima International airport, your clients will be met by our staff (We will have a sign with your company logo) and driven to the hotel booked.

2. Upon arrival at the hotel, our English-speaking staff will assist your clients with hotel check-in and provide them with important tips (information may vary depending on season).

3. Our staff will monitor your clients’ reservations (transfers, flights, trains, buses, hotels, guides, Restaurants, etc.) to ensure all services are provided successfully.

4. Our team is here to help in case of any problems. No matter where your clients are travelling (Mountains or the Amazon rainforest), our local multi-lingual speaking Guides and Agents, will be happy to help at any time.

5. The last day of your clients’ itinerary in Peru, we will drive them back to the airport in time for boarding their flight back home.

Stage three: Post-travel experience

We are happy to hear from all of you and learn how we can continue improving our service.

1. We will appreciate to have your clients’ feedback and your comments about working with ECS Travel.

VII) Terms and Conditions

➢ Rates are valid for travelling from October 1, 2017 to November 30, 2018.

➢ Hotels and services are subject to availability at the time of booking.

➢ In case of unavailability in the mentioned hotels, accommodation will be arranged in a similar category

hotel.

➢ Additional surcharges may apply if traveling during New Year.

➢ Cancellation charges would be as per the company policy.

➢ All itineraries are subject to change, due to weather and other conditions.

PAYMENT FEE ➢ Bank Wire Transfer: US$25 per transfer (receiving bank in Peru)

➢ Credit Card payment: 3.5% of the transaction amount

We recommend obtaining a personal Travel Insurance, including Medical Problems, Baggage loss or damage, trip cancellation (Flights, Buses, Trains). If you need help to find a travel insurance Company, please let us know.

ECS Travel is committed to providing all services agreed according to the Official Tour Confirmation, except for reasons of force majeure (natural disasters, adverse weather conditions or any event beyond our control).

CANCELLATION POLICIES

1. If you cancel your tour more than 90 days before arrival in Peru, the cancellation fee is 50% of deposit. The reimbursement will start being processed seven days after receiving the cancellation letter.

2. If you cancel your tour between 90 and 30 days before arrival in Peru, the cancellation fee is 100% of deposit.

3. If you cancel your tour while traveling in Peru, the cancellation fee is 100% of tour price.

All the information you provide us, full name, passport number, nationality, date of birth, telephone number, and address or your credit card info will be used strictly to process your tour arrangements. This information will not be shared with anyone.
