Description:
In this full day training, we will define traumatic experiences related to
abuse and neglect, and discuss how the meaning that clients attach to their trauma profoundly affects the long-term impact. We will also ex-
plore the pivotal role that secure ver-sus disorganized attachment pat-
terns have in a family-of-origin and make connections between dysfunc-tional attachment styles and clients subsequent inabilities to self-soothe or regulate emotional states in adult-hood. Participants will then be intro-duced to a number of creative treat-
ment strategies designed to help traumatized adults develop affect regulation skills. These strategies
will help to promote grounding, con-tainment, self-soothing and
emotional stabilization.
This program has been
approved for 6 CEUs for Social
Workers and Professional Counse-
lors. All other
disciplines may receive a
certificate of participation.
Seating is limited; register now!
