City of Livermore Site ID: Arroyo Mocho-Stanley Bridge-Pedestrian Bridge (AM-SB-PB #1)

Site Location: Arroyo Mocho Site Description: Arroyo Mocho near the intersection of Stanley and Murrieta Blvd. Waterbody: Arroyo Mocho Watershed: Arroyo Mocho Watershed Jurisdiction: City of Livermore Ownership: Various Agency Contact: Steven Aguiar, Environmental Compliance Supervisor
Justification Information Supporting Selection as a Hot Spot: Livermore Trash Hot Spots were selected based upon information received from the City of Livermore Parks and Trees Department, the Livermore Area Parks Department (LARPD), and the Alameda County Resource Conservation District (ACRCD).
Existing Cleanup Efforts: Since the mid 1990s, the City of Livermore has held “Creek Clean-Ups” as part of its annual Earth Day Celebrations. This site was chosen for these events, as it is a site with a trail and public access. Trash has been observed at this location in the past.
Assessment Results if Conducted: Photo documentation was conducted on June 4, 2010 (photos attached). While there was some visual observation of litter, a complete assessment was not performed. This site was recently cleaned in April 2010 as part of the City’s Earth Day “Creek Clean-up”.

Justification Information Supporting Selection as a Hot Spot: Livermore Trash Hot Spots were selected based upon information received from the City of Livermore Parks and Trees Department, the Livermore Area Parks Department (LARPD), and the Alameda County Resource Conservation District (ACRCD).
Existing Cleanup Efforts: Prior to its selection as a “Hot Spot”, there have been no existing cleanup efforts at this location.
Assessment Results if Conducted: Photo documentation was conducted on June 8, 2010 (photos attached. A complete assessment was not performed at this time. The trash observed at this location and documented in these photos does not reflect the typical migration and accumulation of litter. The majority of trash at this site is directly attributed to the alternative living quarters (ALQs) located underneath the bridge and alongside the arroyo.
