KUDOS
Alex Henry, a Walkwise outreach specialist at CUTR, spoke at a Crickette Club
meeting last month in regards to the Walkwise program. This program was started
five years ago by the Florida Department of Transportation. Originally it was started
to tackle the problems in the Hillsborough County and Pinellas County areas and now
it is starting to branch out into central Florida and eventually throughout the state.
Its goal is to teach people about pedestrian and bicycle safety; one of the ways it does
this is going out into the community to spread the word on the rules of the law to help
reduce the number of accidents.
