Keeping your products movingWe'd love to have your cargo—though not for long. We're focused on working together with our terminals to keep containers moving in and out of the Port area as efficiently and quickly as possible.

Take advantage of: • International container service from 14 ocean carriers on 10 different services, calling

at 49 ports of call in the transpacific and other major trade lanes. The BNSF Railway and Union Pacific Railroad connect the Port of Tacoma and your cargo to key North American markets in the Midwest and Ohio Valley.

• A variety of Intermodal Marketing Companies (IMCs) to assist with booking domestic cargo on the railroads and coordinating the rail rate with a truck rate at origin and destination. Port of Tacoma transload facilities:Making your business easy When it comes to your supply chain, time is money. No port better understands that than Tacoma. Our near-terminal transload facilities offer efficient and flexible options for moving and storing your products.

Minutes to key facilities There are 20 transload warehouse facilities and distribution centers located within three miles of port terminals. Nearly all locations are rail served. A designated heavy-haul corridor in the Port industrial area also helps expedite the movement of overweight containerized cargo and industrial bulk commodities between transload facilities and port terminals.

Choice of logistics service providersNo matter how specialized your cargo, we can handle it. Our logistics service providers offer highly skilled labor and specialized facilities and handling equipment for the transload and storage of all types of cargo including:

• Agricultural and industrial bulk and liquid commodities• Temperature-sensitive foodstuffs • High-tech and high-value consumer goods

Easy access to rail The Tacoma South Intermodal Facility (TacSim), a 25-acre domestic container yard located in the port industrial zone, provides domestic rail service between Tacoma and the Midwest, Ohio Valley and Southern California markets. 24/7 customer service and an average truck turn time of less than 10 minutes provide added convenience and flexibility for rail customers. Short haul rail service is available between Tacoma and Portland three times each week (both ways) for port-to-port moves.
