The project is contributing to the fight against the plastic waste

menace in Ghana by up-cycling waste into high fashion goods

whiles creating employment opportunities for street youth and

unemployed artisans.

Bright Simmons MPedigree (Ghana)

MPedigree is a non-profit based in Ghana that advocates for

the development of strategies to fight counterfeiting. We work

with technology providers worldwide to bring relief to patients at

risk of counterfeit medication in developing nations, where the

WHO estimates that up to 30% of drugs could lead to the horrid

healthcare crises that fake drugs often unleash.



Anne Githuku-Shongwe Afroes Transformational Games (South Africa)

Afroes partners with governments and social agencies to

design innovative responses to social challenges using mobile

gaming as the primary new media tool complemented by SMS

technology

Njideka Harry Youth for Technology (Nigeria)

Njideka is using the Owerri Digital Village, a community

technology and learning center for expanding the horizons of

rural youth and their mothers who are farmers. Njideka does

this by providing access to information and resources across

the value chain, helping them to create more sustainable

livelihoods in agriculture.



Regina Agyare Growing STEMS (Ghana)

Growing STEMS is product from Soronko Solutions that aims at

developing the next generation of innovators and problem

solvers in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering and

Mathematics. There is a mobile learning center which is solar

powered and the mode of instruction is web and mobile

applications. Actually experiments are conducted with local

resources to solve a local problem and the children are trained

by peer educators. Scholarships are given to deserving

students
