Transcription Services deliver:

Braille Transcription We produce Braille Transcription documents in-house using specialist software and embossers. We use high quality paper that helps us to emboss duplex and bind the document (if requested). To ensure the accuracy of our Braille transcriptions, our dedicated Braille verification team checks text, page order and layout.

Audio Transcription Once we have received your document, we will create a master template that will allow us to create an audio output file. We use a variety of techniques to create an enjoyable audio experience for the end customer. We can either produce a CD or USB, or we can return the audio file to you.

Large Print We transcribe all output to conform to the best practice, so that all documents are clear and accurate and have the right colours, fonts, layout and text.

Our Process and Commitment

An initial assessment of your requirements is carried out to ensure efficiency of processing and the highest standards of accuracy and presentation. Understanding the documents to ensure consistency and accurate reflection of the originals.

Existing formatting is removed by a primary associate and reformatted for large print, Braille or audio presentation. Particular attention is paid to formatting of layouts, text in tables and images when creating the output template.

The output template is then quality checked by a secondary associate, agreed with the primary associate and this is then used as the master template for the remaining documents in the suite.

Each document is created individually using the ‘master template’. As part of the quality control process, documents created by a primary associate will always be proof checked by a secondary associate, ensuring optimum levels of accuracy.

The finished products will be despatched in accordance with your instructions. Where the product is to be sent out directly to the customer ‘Articles for the Blind’ labels will be used. This is a free of charge service, which is treated as Royal Mail 1st Class post.

We are happy to provide you with a copy of your formatted template, or the transcribed pack, if required. Electronic copies of your formatted documents will be retained in-line with your specified data retention period.
