OBJECTS
1. To practically explain and upgrade the ADR skills taught earlier in classroom mode.
2. To train the students in arbitration practice.
3. To introduce them to undertake suitable defence of challenges put forth in courts of law to arbitration.
![Page 5: Training Workshop on ADR Teaching Practice](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022052600/557e071ad8b42a16408b4bef/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
PRIOR KNOWLEDGE
The students would have had the exposure to
classroom teaching earlier i.e. prior to their
deputation to internship/externship.
![Page 6: Training Workshop on ADR Teaching Practice](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022052600/557e071ad8b42a16408b4bef/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
INTERNSHIPmeans
an opportunity offered by an employer to potential employees called interns, to work
at a firm for a fixed, limited period of time.
![Page 7: Training Workshop on ADR Teaching Practice](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022052600/557e071ad8b42a16408b4bef/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Internship offers students a period of practical
experience in the industry relating to their
field of study.
![Page 8: Training Workshop on ADR Teaching Practice](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022052600/557e071ad8b42a16408b4bef/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
Externships are experimental learning opportunities. These are similar to
internships. However, these are generally offered by professional colleges to give students
short practical experience in their field of
study.
![Page 9: Training Workshop on ADR Teaching Practice](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022052600/557e071ad8b42a16408b4bef/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
Externships are similar to internships but
shorter in duration. They last for about a few
weeks to months.
Difference between Externship and Internship
is chiefly the duration of training.
![Page 10: Training Workshop on ADR Teaching Practice](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022052600/557e071ad8b42a16408b4bef/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Externships typically are unpaid and the student
usually does not get school credit for their
experience.
![Page 11: Training Workshop on ADR Teaching Practice](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022052600/557e071ad8b42a16408b4bef/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
In the legal profession, the terms internships
and externships are used interchangeably,
regardless of duration, intensify or academic
credit offered.
![Page 12: Training Workshop on ADR Teaching Practice](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022052600/557e071ad8b42a16408b4bef/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
For internships the students should attend
And observe a session in arbitration. Itcould be by an institutional arbitrator
orby an adhoc one.
![Page 13: Training Workshop on ADR Teaching Practice](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022052600/557e071ad8b42a16408b4bef/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
The law school would need to take the initiative
and arrange for the acceptance by thearbitrator.
![Page 14: Training Workshop on ADR Teaching Practice](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022052600/557e071ad8b42a16408b4bef/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
A faculty should be nominated to accompany
the students during externship.
![Page 15: Training Workshop on ADR Teaching Practice](https://reader034.vdocuments.site/reader034/viewer/2022052600/557e071ad8b42a16408b4bef/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
