Objectives
The ESTP…
enhances the vocational training of European statisticians by providing postgraduate training courses at international level; is tailored to meet the specific needs of the European Statistical System (ESS);complements national training schemes; and meets the challenges of comparable statistics at European and international level.

covers statistical fields like data collection, survey methodology, economic and social statistics, data analysis, quality, dissemination and publication, etc.

Organisation – Who?
The Programme is managed by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities
Financed by European Commission and EFTA
Eurostat closely cooperates with a network of National ESTP contact points

Courses are organised and delivered
in Luxembourg at Eurostat (by Eurostat)
on national training sites of EU and EFTA countries
• by Contractors, often in co-operation with National Statistical Institutes (NSIs)
• by EFTA through EFTA NSIs

Officials and employees of National Statistical Institutes or corresponding Competent National Authorities (CNA) of EU Member States, EFTA countries, Eurostat and candidate countries
Candidates apply via their national ESTP contact point.
Who may participate?

Exceptionally, if places are available, applicants from other administrations, international organisations and Statistical offices of non-ESS countries are admitted.
Candidates send applications to the Eurostat‘sESTP contact point.

Evaluation at the end of each course:
– Standard questionnaires are filled in by all participants
– Oral feedback at the end of the courses

Quality control
Evaluation at the end of each course:
– Each participants receives after the course an e-mail in which is asked to complete an evaluation form
– The evaluation form is online, and is standardised for the entire Commission (with different modules for General, IT and language courses)
– The evaluation form is being revised to take into consideration new learning forms (e.g. e-learning, group learning)

E-learning– A wide set of e-learning courses (without a tutor)
are available on Business Competences and General Competences • In English and French• Provided by an outside contractor
– In-house courses, sometimes with a tutor, developed using Blackboard
Group learning– Lunchtime conferences, Action Learning, residential
seminars, coaching, Communities of practice
