Summer Internship Training Programme

The Amplify summer training programme is world renowned

for creating the best equipped candidates to enter today’s

financial industry. Our alumni have been placed at many of

the world’s leading institutions, now actively seeking

applicants with this unique experience.

You will develop a broad range of skills from understanding

global markets, to experiencing the different roles in both the

buy-side and sell-side of the industry. You will use the same

practical simulations delivered to the world's leading

investment banks, hedge funds and asset managers.

The entire programme is designed to help you find what

financial role suits you, and then to ensure you have every

advantage to secure that role. You will be invited to attend

sociable networking events with industry professionals,

receive one-to-one CV advice with interview and assessment

prep, and continue to receive our support even after the

programme has finished.

You will receive a Level 6 Diploma in Trading & Financial

Market Analysis accredited by the London Institute of

Banking & Finance.

We have built a unique portal, that allows all of our

simulations to be delivered online.

AN INTRODUCTION TO GLOBAL MARKETS

Stage 1: E-Learning Platform Duration: Anytime pre-course

The experience begins as soon as you have registered for the

programme, you will receive access to AmplifyNow, our

renowned online pre-learning and assessment platform. No

prior experience is necessary as the content is designed to

ensure that everyone completes Stage 1 with a firm grasp of

the key concepts in contemporary financial markets.

You will receive an exclusive login to our Global Markets

trading app to ReTrade the major events that have driven each

asset, helping you really understand why markets move. By

the end of the pre-learning course you will have a practical

understanding of the following assets:

• Commodities• Equities• Fixed Income• Foreign Exchange

This stage lasts right from registration until you join us in the

summer. The content can be reviewed as many times as

needed and the Amplify Trading team will always be available

to provide any support.

INVESTMENT BANKING

Stage 2: Amplify Trading LIVE Online Duration: 1 Week

Your first week with us on the Amplify Trading Summer Internship

Programme, gives you experience across the different roles on the sell-

side of the financial industry. This involves theoretical lectures and

practical simulations to fully prepare you for the realities for a career in

investment banking.

• RUN THE UNIVERSAL BANK: You will gain a practical understanding

of how different divisions of a universal bank come together as you

move between Global Markets, IBD and Retail Banking divisions.

• INVESTMENT BANK SALES & TRADING: Experience the different

roles on the global markets desk of an investment bank. You will

operate at an advanced level in market making, risk management and

sales trader roles.

• INVESTMENT BANK DIVISION: From valuations and M&A, to client

mandates and IPO’s, our IBD simulations cover all aspects of working

in corporate finance.

• INTERDEALER BROKING: Use the same platform as the world’s

largest broking firms to match client trades and maximise commission.

The career sessions integrated within Stage 2 will provide you with a

step-by-step guide to the application process for the world’s largest

institutions.

TRADING AND ASSET MANAGEMENT

Stage 3: Amplify Trading LIVE Online Duration: 1 week

You will now develop skills crucial to working in the buy-side, including

experience in investment strategy, portfolio management, technical analysis,

and trading psychology. You will also delve into the world of derivatives,

exploring concepts such as futures, options and calendar spreads.

• ASSET MANAGEMENT: You will be grouped into funds where each asset

manager is responsible for an asset class. Based on your research, you will

apply a complimentary and coherent strategy, whilst also deciding on the

funding each asset manager receives.

• LIVE MARKET TRADING: LIVETrader allows you to apply advanced

technical analysis and fundamental trading strategies in live market prices.

You will apply advanced arbitrage and spread trading strategies across

asset classes understanding key concepts in options and futures markets.

• PSYCHOMETRIC TESTING: We integrate applications to combine

psychometric assessments with predictive analytics and AI technology.

The simulation captures real decisions and behaviours as you respond

spontaneously to simple and engaging tasks, meaning we can observe

real behavioural preferences in action.

SECURE YOUR FUTURE IN FINANCE

Stage 4: : Amplify Trading LIVE Online Duration: 1 week

Stage 4 builds your practical skills across broader areas of

finance to ensure you secure a significant competitive advantage

in your applications.

• ALGORITHMIC CODING IN PYTHON: Our experienced

technology team will take you through the basics of how to

write your own code and understand how technology is used

in modern day finance.

• ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENTS: Gain an insight into Private

Equity transactions and Real Estate investment trends.

• REGULATION, CONDUCT AND COMPLIANCE: Crucial to

understand for any interview, our Conduct & Compliance

simulation will give you experience of working within MiFID II

protocols.

In this final stage the Amplify team will be working closely with

you on a 1-1 basis to review and enhance your CV. It will reflect

the entire experience, pitched in a way to best suit the roles to

which you would now like to apply to.

We will invite you to a Networking evening with our contacts at

major financial firms, and previous Amplify alumni who are now

working in the industry. This is a great way to enhance your

connections and put to work the skills you have gained.

A SUMMARY OF YOUR AMPLIFY EXPERIENCE

• Learn to analyse financial markets by applying an understanding of

global macroeconomics and technical analysis across asset

classes.

• Operate roles across an investment bank including the investment

banking division (M&A) and global markets (market-making and

sales trading).

• Manage a global multi-asset portfolio through macro driven

volatility with the objective of outperforming the benchmark.

• Experience the implications of behavioural finance first-hand, as

well as decision making under pressure.

• Receive a Level 6 professional diploma accredited by The London

Institute of Banking and Finance.

• Benefit from careers advice from those inside the industry: CV tips,

interview techniques, networking, presentation skills and group

exercises.

• Network with professionals from across the industry at regular

social events sponsored and organised by Amplify Trading.

UNIQUE ONLINE EXPERIENCE

LIVE TRADING FLOOR IN CENTRAL LONDON

Amplify Trading operates its main trading floor from

a central London location next to the Bank of

England. Two further offices operate in London and

in December 2017 Amplify Trading opened in

Shanghai, China.

Our summer internship training programme is now accredited by the London

Institute of Banking & Finance and on successful completion, candidates will be

awarded the professional Level 6 Diploma qualification in Trading & Financial

Market Analysis.

Securing this professional qualification gives formal recognition of the practical

knowledge gained throughout the Amplify Trading experience. Completion of the

summer programme allows you to record both the renowned internship

experience and educational achievement onto your CV.
