THE NACA FOUNDATION
• The NACA Foundation was established in 1982 to develop and provide educational
programs and services for college and university students, professional staff and
others who work in the field of student activities.
• The Foundation currently offers 54 awards through 17 different scholarships to assist
undergraduate students, graduate students, professional staff and associate members
in pursuing educational interests and career development.
• The majority of the funds raise for NACA scholarships come from our 8 nationwide
events: the 7 Regional Conferences and the National Convention. The NACA
Foundation and the Association as a whole heavily depends on these events to plan
successful fundraising events while educating delegates about the Foundation and it's
mission.
• With every fundraising campaign, our hope is to raise enough money to increase the
award amount of each scholarship. In 2009, the Foundation raised over $50,000 in
celebration of the Association's 50th Anniversary- the most it has raised in over 10
years. With your dedication and hard work as a NACA Volunteer, the NACA Foundation
will celebrate larger donations years more often.

1. The Foundation Development Coordinator in the NACA Office will touch base with you according to the planning and training timeline.
2. Keep in mind that regions usually “stack” their events, meaning they choose several fundraising events that may appeal to more people, instead of just focusing on one.
3. Your budget is $50, so you will need to keep all of the receipts and fill out the reimbursement form provided by the office in order to get reimbursed for any supplies you need to purchase for your events. Before you buy, check with the NACA Office to see if we have any of the supplies you need, and we’ll send them to you. You will not get reimbursed for anything purchased over your budget.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FOUNDATION
FUNDRAISING COORDINATORS!
![Page 5: Training module sample](https://reader035.vdocuments.site/reader035/viewer/2022071816/55aa30481a28ab4f6e8b4637/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
4. Please complete the Fundraising Event Planning Guide and Evaluation as you plan and wrap up, no matter if it’s a new idea or your region has been doing it for years. The Foundation Development Coordinator will call you to discuss your plan according to the timeline.
5. Utilize members of the Regional Conference Planning Committee for help, especially the Student Projects Coordinator and Conference Treasurer. The Treasurer will be trained separately by the NACA Office, so please contact them to learn the guidelines for handling money onsite.
6. As soon as you have a definite amount of how much money your conference has raised, contact the Foundation Development Coordinator with your report in order to verify the correct amount was received in the office.
HAPPY PLANNING!

BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE
The concept of best seat in the house is for students to
make donations the foundation and receive a raffle ticket.
At the end of the marketplace session, raffles are drawn
and a select few students are chosen to sit on a provided
sofa at the front of the auditorium during the next
showcase of acts. This has been a fundraiser that was
created and instituted by students! This is a favorite of
every region!

RESTAURANT NIGHT
Everybody has to eat!! So why not turn a dining
event into a fundraising opportunity? Students make
contact with restaurants in the area around the
convention center to partner with them to earn a
percentage of sales from that evening to go towards
the Foundation. Some restaurants that have been
used before are TGIFridays, Jersey Mikes Subs, and
Dominos.

TAKE AWAYEvery regional conference has an annual
theme and so a great way to promote the
theme is to provide a souvenir from the
year! Normally items such as koozies,
pens, cups, key rings, etc. can be ordered
in bulk for relatively cheap. When they
purchase the particular item for any
amount between $1-$5 they are donating
to the foundation. It is important to make
sure that you make a profit from whatever
item you select. Be sure not to just "break
even." Also, please use the NACA website
to network with associates who provide
these types of services. They love to get
their name out and they generally are
generous to other NACA members.

ALL REGION FUNDRAISER• There will only be 125 fastpasses available for purchase at the volunteer center for a $5
donation to the foundation (this will also help drive traffic to the volunteer center). The exact
number will not be announced; instead we will describe them as “very limited quantities” to
try to create a high demand for them. In fact we want them to sell out on the first day so that
there will be buzz about them and they will be in even higher demand next year.
• Fastpasses will allow the holder access to a special line at CAMP that will be shorter than the
regular line, similar to how the fastpass concept works at Disney. We will expect that not
everyone holding a fastpass will show up early at every camp so that there will be less than
100 people in the fast pass line at any time. This will preserve the value of the fastpass and
guarantee that the line will enter CAMP at the same time, but the fastpass line will have
access to more doors.
• Once the fastpass line is empty, all doors will be made available to the normal line. We will
keep one volunteer at the starting spot for the fastpass line to allow any late comes with
fastpasses to enter. All lines will be monitored and controlled by members of the Student
Projects Team as well as volunteers from the volunteer center.FASTPA
