1 INTRODUCTION

A quality management system (QMS) is a collection of business processes focused on achieving quality policy and quality objectives to meet customer requirements. It is expressed as the organizational structure, policies, procedures, processes and resources needed to implement quality management. In the 21st century, QMS has tended to converge with sustainability and transparency initiatives, as both investor and customer satisfaction and perceived quality is increasingly tied to these factors. Of all QMS regimes, the ISO 9000 family of standards is probably the most widely implemented worldwide. Due to the importance of QMS, Bangladesh – Japan Training Institute (BJTI) conducted a one-day long Training on Quality Management System: ISO 9001:2008 dated on 12 June 2015 at BAAS Centre in Dhaka.

The following sections cover the various aspects of the training concluded. 2 OBJECTIVES

The objective of the program is to familiar the participants with new ISO 9000:2008 family of International Quality Standards with a view to implement it successfully in the organization. The course includes fully updated information regarding what ISO requires in areas such as management responsibility, contract review, document control, purchasing, process control, inspection & testing, training and much more.

3 COURSE CONTENTS

The course specifically covered the following contents,

Concept of Quality Related Terms/Factors Basic understanding Five standards of ISO 9000 - Quality management Components of ISO 9001:2008 standards Satisfying ISO 9001: 2008 requirements Implementing ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems Assessment of Quality Systems and Auditing the status of your organization Auditing and Documentation of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Manual, Procedure, Work Instructions etc.

4 METHODOLOGY

Classes may involve lectures, small group exercises, case analyses and discussions and multimedia presentations. Participants are expected to take part and contribute to discussions, and keep up with current issues in their respective areas, exchange views and ideas with other organizations through rapport and inter-actions, encourage with success stories.

5 TRAINING VENUE AND TIMING

The training venue was arranged by Bangladesh – Japan Training Institute. Training time was from 8:45 am to 5:00 pm, with a 1-hour lunch and prayer break and two 15-minute tea breaks. BJTI arranged food and refreshment for the participants and the trainer.

7 THE ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT AND LOGISTICS

The administrative support and logistics required for each of the training sessions were arranged by Bangladesh - Japan Training Institute. Md. Mahfuzul Haque, Program Manager, BJTI acted as the Course Coordinator of the program and maintained liaison with the participants and other stakeholders.

The following materials were supplied to each participant: Training bag Name tag Writing pad Pen Key ring Training calendar Training certificate, etc.

The following materials/ equipment were extensively used during the training course:

10 INUAGURATION AND CLOSING
