HW Configuration – Protection overview

Extension unit allows to have the protection of

E1 tributaries multiplex / demultiplex (EPS)

/!\ Ethernet ports are not protected. EPS should be set in revertive mode

Radio Transmission failure (HST)

Reception failure (RPS)

Due to propagation activity or card failure

Protection configurations are 1+1 HST and 1+1 FD

IDU Installation

Caution on IDU – ODU connector

Before to put the IDU-ODU cable, check that the hexagonal washer is properly tightened (failure on R2.0 has been noticed: ICP, Cable LOS)

Caution on inter-IDUs SCSI

Insure that the cable is properly plugged (failures on R2.0 has been noticed : RUP, ICP, transmission KO…)

Caution on connector columns

When disconnecting an interface, take care that columns may remain attached to the screws
