THE MSE STORY

A few years ago, K-Wave/K-Pop Wave started spreading all over Asia. Mostly, the younger generations are the ones who became very fond of this music genre. Cover groups emerged everywhere performing and dancing to their favorite K-Pop group/ K-idol songs. Housing 70+ K-Pop Cover groups just in Metro Manila, the Philippines grabbed the title as the country with the most number of K-Pop Cover Groups (as compared to Western and other Asian countries). K-Pop Cover groups perform at K-Pop Events held in the Philippines, however most Cover groups cover only the dancing skills of their idols, seldom do we see Cover groups who can sing and dance.

Blue Darlene Palma, the founder of MSEnt, is a college student at Far Eastern University taking up Bachelor of Science in Architecture, she joined three (3) different entertainments and resigned after when she finally decided to establish her own cover entertainment, with the help of friends that she recruited, Edralin Guevarra, an IT college student and her co-admin at FILzzang Mania (a popular ulzzang page for filipinos), and Nicole Garcia, a high school student, to be her helping hand in establishing their dream cover entertainment.

In early 2013, StarLust Entertainment (meaning ‘desiring to be a star’) was established but was not launched in Facebook. It did not gain the popularity needed and had gone through difficulties in handling the agency because of the lack of manpower and so, StarLust Entertainment went into hiatus.

Last 15th of October 2013, StarLust Entertainment was rename as Moon Struck Entertainment and was launched officially as a Facebook Page. Unlike StarLust, Moon Struck Entertainment had received a better response from people in the Philippines and even abroad.

On March 1, 2014, Nicole Garcia stepped down from her position as Vice-President and Regine Dumlao took her place. On December 2014, Regine Dumlao resigned due to personal reasons and MSE manager, Katherine Dela Cruz was elected as the new Vice-Ppresident.

MoonStruck Entertainment covers the system and concept of the Top 3 Entertainments in South Korea (SM, YG & JYP). Just like these entertainments, MoonStruck is bound to give services/programs to the trainees such as free training and showcase concert before the debut of the cover group/soloist. Aside from the K-Pop music industry, MoonStruck Entertainment also established their own film productions that will produce short films about real life stories and drama fiction on Youtube.

VISION-MISSION STATEMENT

Guided by the system and quality of the Top 3 South Korean leading agencies; SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment, MoonStruck Entertainment aims to be a K-Pop cover entertainment that keeps developing opportunities across its nation and carrying its mission of becoming the leading K-Pop cover entertainment in the Philippines.

Committed to continuously spreading the South Korean Hallyu Wave and rich culture with fellow Filipinos and dedicated to creating the most epic star idol life experience.

MSE CORE VALUES

MoonStruck Entertainment’s three core values (Musical Inclination, Sincerity, and Evolutional) represent the principles and beliefs that have guided our organization throughout these months. These values are reflected in trainees decision and action at their stay in MSE.

1. An MSE trainee is characterized to be MUSICALLY INCLINED. Talent and skills are more important than appearance, it is also the foundation of the trainee for all the opportunities that he/she will get. MSE provides training to help the trainee in developing his/her potential skills and talent.

2. An MSE trainee is characterized to be SINCERE. A trainee with sincere love for K-POP will be in ease in performing korean songs. More than a memorized choreography or song performance, the sincerity of a trainee to do well in the performance will help him/her to convey how much he/she wants to stay and learn. MSE training is a test of how sincere and how much the trainee desires to debut on a real stage.

3. An MSE trainee is characterized to be EVOLUTIONAL. With the help of the free training, a trainee must improve his/her skills in dancing, singing, rap, or playing instruments. To able to adapt and make his/her weaknesses as his/her strength, he/she must be open to new challenges and is willing to learn by heart.

MSE EMBLEMS

The Official Logo

Our 2nd and official logo was designed by our MSE staff Crizza Lyn Mercado last 30th of November 2013.

The Tagline

“The Gateway to Stardom”MoonStruck Entertainment’s tagline is a hyperbole referring to the whole idea of trainees to be

at their most star-studded moment through MoonStruck Entertainment which serves as the way in achieving those ambitions.

The Colors

The colors of MoonStruck Entertainment is black and silver. Black represents the mysterious aura that the entertainment and its staff has. Black implies self-control and discipline, independence and a strong will, and giving an impression of authority and power. Black is also considered to be a very formal, elegant, and prestigious color. Although black color has negativities, we associate it with our other color which is silver. The color silver contrasts all the negativity that black has, and is known to be eye-blinding for its shine. In simple words, silver is responsible for something dark to shine when both colors are combined.

The Anniversary Date

October 15, 2013 when MoonStruck Entertainment was officially launched in Facebook, replacing StarLust Entertainment.
