*Description

*In this game you have to leap-frog over the other players in the team while you call out examples of a chosen topic. You have to show your physical ability and your knowlegde of different topics.

Page 3: Traditional Spanish Game

*Players

*A team usually consists of between 5-10 players, however if you have more players then that is fine as it will make the game more interesting.*The age of the players is not important as long as the chosen topic is adapted to the participants levels.

Page 4: Traditional Spanish Game

*Players

*Each team needs to choose a CAPTAIN and a TOAD. *The captains job is to choose a topic for the game (e.g. foods, languages, films). He/she also must select a ‘secret’ word about the topic and whisper it to the toad.*The toad must crouch down so the other players can leap-frog over him/her. The other job that the toad must do is to catch a player if one of then says the ‘secret’word.

*The Aim of the Game

*The aim of the game is to avoid becoming the toad.*Being able to give a correct answer on the topic given.*Being quick enough to get as far away as possible from the toad when the next player jumps over him/her.*Being fast enough to avoid being caught by the toad if someone says the secret word.

*How to play

*First you draw a giant lightbulb on the ground with chalk. The toad has to stay at the edge of the lightbulb (in the small box shape).

*The captain can stay close to the toad but not in its box.

*How to play

*Next the captain suggests a topic with many possible answers (such as examples of European countries) .

*The captain also chooses a secret word and tells it to the toad. If a player says that word he /she will automatically become the toad.

*How to play

*Once all of the players have leap-frogged over the toad and are standing inside the lightbulb, it is the captains turn.

Page 14: Traditional Spanish Game

*How to play

*The Captain has 2 options:

1. If he/she decides to say the secret word when jumping over the toad, the toad is free to get up and catch a player before they run out of the lightbulb. The player he/she catches immediately becomes the toad and the game starts again.

*How to play

2. If the captain doesn’t say the secret word and chooses another word, the toad cannot move and must remain still. However if a player inside the lightbulb moves then he/she automatically becomes the toad. The aim is to be prepared to run if the toad moves or stay still if not.

*How to play

* Lastly, if a player gives an incorrect answer (e.g. if they say ‘Australia’ when the topic is ‘European countries’) then the toad is able to leave its place and try to catch a player inside the lightbulb. If the toad catches someone before they leave the bulb then that player becomes the new toad.
