NEW PRACTICE TIMES AND OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE IN WORSHIP

As Wednesday night supper and programming returns August 18, Worship Music Ministries will resume with new times, and new chances for you to get involved! Contact Tim Peck if you would like to learn more. See our ministry areas below:

Chancel Choir – practices Wednesdays @ 6pm-7pm in the Choir Room. This is the first time in recent memory Chancel Choir has met at the same time as Children and Youth programming. Chancel Choir meets most every week and sings in the Choir Loft on Sundays at 11am. If you’ve had musical experiences before and would like to get back into it, this is a great way to join a supportive group of individuals in Worshipping God through Traditional music!

Instrumental Accompanists – we are always looking for those who are skillful enough at their classical instruments to accompany our Choir and play featured music.

Adult Handbells – we are aiming to resume Chancel Bells in September. Keep a look out for more information!

Contemporary Worship – practices Wednesdays @ 7pm-8:15pm in the Fellowship Building (Nursery care may be available upon request). Team members typically serve 1-2 times monthly. There are many volunteer roles in a variety of experience levels:

• Stage Team — typically bass, guitar, drums, keys, vocals. Not the most confident? No problem. Can follow along with a chord chart but are not comfortable on your own? No problem. Love to sing the songs in a group but not a solo? No problem. Think you could give it a shot in a low-pressure group practice to see if you like it? Great! The most important thing is that you have a heart for and calling to serve God through your gifts.

• Tech Team(s) – if you aren’t sure how you can get involved, but you know you want to get involved in the production somehow, we can help you serve by learning to run our camera (for broadcast), light cues, visual media, or even sound. Each position comes with training built in and shadowing other team members! Of course we welcome any with previous experience who look to serve again in that way.

• Greeting/Welcome Teams (either service) – if seeing your fellow congregants on a Sunday is something that warms your heart, your family may be able to help as a Greeter or Welcome Team member at your Sunday Worship Service. We’re looking for folks to serve on a regular basis who can help welcome returning guests and first time visitors. Your help makes a difference!

We’re excited for this new season, and hope you’ll pray about getting involved on Sunday mornings serving in your Church!

EARLY RISER?We are looking to employ someone to serve as our Opener/Greeter for the Young Learners Academy during the school year. This position would require you to be on campus from 6:45am-9:00am, Monday-Friday during the school year. We have Kids' Activity Bags that are available in both Worship spaces for children who stay in the service (2nd grade and older).

Our hope is that our older kids enjoy these activities and maybe even write down something they hear or have a question about as they listen to the sermon.

At the end of the service, bags should be returned to the basket.

We aim to worship God with our whole selves in our family-friendly Fellowship Building, seeking to honor God through engaging and reflective Contemporary Worship music. Our Worship Service is centered in the prayers and creeds foundational to our Christian living. There are many ways to get involved in our service too! You are always welcome to worship at TFUMC.
