VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ BEFORE USE. *Very Important: The battery must be charged for 6-7 hours before using the meter for the first time. Failure to do this will affect the batteries life and performance. *Your Latitude and Longitude will be required for satellite meter setup. Please go to the website below for your Latitude and Longitude. www.findlatitudeandlongitude.com

Battery: Do not expose battery to High heat . Avoid excessive physical shock or vibration. Do not disassemble Satellite Meter or modify the battery or battery charger in any way. Do not leave battery in charger over 7 hours. Store the battery in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area. Promptly and properly dispose of used battery packs according to local regulations for the disposal of batteries. Damaged or leaking battery packs should be handled with extreme care. Charge unused battery packs at least once every six months. Battery Charging: Charge the battery packs only with the specified charger. Never use a modified or damaged charger. Do not charge battery packs near combustible or conductive materials. Charge the battery packs in a well-ventilated room that does not exceed room temperatures of 40oC/104oF. Cleaning and Maintenance: Do not expose the meter and charger to any type of liquid, moisture or humidity it is not waterproof. Please clean the meter and charger periodically with soft dry cloth. Do not use alcohol, thinner or benzene solution to clean them.

(1)INPUT port:It connects with LNB output port (2)OUTPUT port:When battery has run down, connect

this port with the satellite receiver’s input port. In this way, the meter can supply power for battery temporarily and output signal.

(3)LCD Graphic Display: It has LED background light which user can set time and contrast.

(4)Function Keys:There are four function keys, [F1] –[F4],they have different functions in different interfaces.

(5)Esc Key:Back to last menu. Press for 3 seconds, it will back to main interface.

(6)Enter Key:It means Enter, Ok or Next. (7) Direction Keys:User can select items with [▲] [▼]

[◄] [►] keys. (8)Number Keys:Number keys are make up of 0-9,

when enter a letter the key will display circularly, that is number→capital letter→small letter. One is space. [◄] [►] is change typing position.

(9)Direction Keys:First type a longitude or latitude number then type in direction key at last, that is E(east longitude), W(west longitude), S(south latitude), N(north latitude).

For example: type in 123.56w First type 123.56 then plus a direction key at the end.

That is W. (10)C/S Key:Saving and deleting. Press once is saving.

Press for 3 seconds is deleting. (11)POWER:On—Off key. (12)Custom Key:Setting frequency or customized channel list. (13)A data port connects with PC (14)Charging port (15)Indicating light, red is charging and green is working.

1.2. Using the Meter for the First Time

Charge the battery before using it for the first time. When battery is low the empty battery icon will flash. The battery life will depend on the LNB power consumption. The larger the LNB power consumption the shorter the battery life. The meter battery can only be charged under shutdown status. The time to fully charge the battery is approximately 4 hours.

1.3 Powering by OUTPUT Port: Meter must be OFF before connecting output port to live satellite receiver. Failure to do this will result in a malfunction. The input port of Satellite receiver can supply power to the Digital Satellite Finder in operation. The meter itself doesn’t have enough power or when the meter’s battery is low. Connect its output port with the satellite receiver’s input port. Make sure to turn on satellite receiver. Now you can finish the satellite dish installation powered by the satellite receiver.

Start Using Your Meter. (1) Power On/Off:

Press Power Key to turn on unit. Press Power again to Power off. Start up screen shows serial number and product model then goes into main menu, as shown in Fig. 2.

(1.1) Main Menu Screen Icons

1. Manual Satellite Search. The user must enter satellite parameter.

2. Satellite Catalog. Database of built in global satellite parameters. Choose from over 400 global satellite files. Choose your region and locate the satellite you want to search for. All parameters can be edited and saved.

3. Setup. Customize the Tracker Pro’s setting like Backlight, Time, Sound, and Contrast etc. Remember to select the “Enter” key to save your settings.

4. Current Position. Enter your Longitude and Latitude. You can go to www.findlatitudeandlongitude.com for your LAT and LONG. *The nearest city will be sufficient if your Lat and Long is not available.

5. Satellite Record. This is to reference previous saved data only. This option can save 200 measurement results.

6. Connect to PC. To upload satellite lists from PC to Satellite Meter.

1.2 Entering you current coordinates. Longitude and Latitude

Before using, input your Latitude and Longitude coordinates, which can be found on the Internet or www.findlatitudeandlongitude.com. Also, user can type in their city’s Latitude and Longitude.

Press direction key to move to ,press ENTER to enter, as shown in Fig. 3.

Fig. 3

Press [▲] [▼] to select ‘Longitude’. Type in user’s local longitude, then press ENTER to save. Type the latitude in the same way.

(2). Manual Seeking Satellite: Type in satellite parameters:

Move direction key to manual seeking icon [ ],then press ENTER as shown in Fig. 4.

Fig. 4

Press [▲] [▼] to select parameters which will be typed or changed, press [◄] [►] to select letters you want to change. NAME:Satellite’s name.(Create Name) L: Satellite Longitude F: Downstream Frequency SR:Symbol Rate LO:Local Oscillation Frequency [F1]:Press [F1] to select 22KHz On/Off [F2]:F2 key DisEqC control will be OFF switch between LNB 1-4 and OFF [F3]:LNB Power Supply. Press to switch between 13V and18V. [F4]:Search Screen (Next Page) Ounce data is entered go to search screen.

See Fig 4

Fig 4

When a satellite longitude is entered, the meter will adjust according to the user’s local coordinates. If the satellite can be seen, the picture will show the Azimuth, Elevation and Polarization box. (A: E: P: Box). As shown in:Fig. 5

Fig. 5

A: Azimuth

E: Elevation

P: Polarization means a C or Ku radio frequency is 00, The LNB turns clockwise or counter clockwise. A positive number is clockwise, negative is counter clockwise, also known as LNB skew.

If the satellite cannot be seen from the user’s location, the meter shows “below the horizon” as seen in Fig. 6.

Fig. 6

(2.1) Saving Typed Parameter:

The “Custom” key is located on the bottom right of satellite meter.

Press CUSTOM key for 3 seconds to save these satellite parameters in the CUSTOM channel list, as shown in Fig. 7

Fig 7

(2.2) Searching for signal:

After satellite parameters have been entered, press ENTER to begin satellite-searching interface, as shown in Fig. 8

Fig. 8 (Search Screen)

Begin turning the satellite dish to the correct compass heading. When the antenna is close to the satellite, the meter will show an increasing value of S (Signal) and Q (Quality) Bars. Continue to turn the antenna slowly in the direction that makes the S/Q Bars increase. When the value is sufficient, the meter will sound a steady audible

tone. The icon will appear on the display when signal is verified. Continue to tune the antenna until the meter shows the maximum S/Q bar reading.

*The icon will show only on satellites that have an ID Frequency. In general if the S and Q are showing strong values you are on the satellite frequency selected. Try to maximize the S and Q Bars to obtain the best satellite signal. Press [▲] [▼] to adjust F: (Frequency) parameter by 0.5MHz per step +/-.

(2.3) Saving Measurement Result: On the search screen press C/S to save and it will tell you the saving location, as shown in Fig. 9. *The C/S button is located on the bottom right of meter.
