Guidelines And Rules I. HOUSE INSPECTIONS A. We are required to do occasional searches for drugs and illegal items through all personal property, which can and/or does involve the use of trained dogs. B. We also are required to do periodic alcohol and drug tests with everyone in the home including the staff. C. A search through all personal items will be done upon entering the home. II. VEHICLES A. In order to drive or own a vehicle, residents must: 1. Have the vehicle registered, insured and inspected with a proper title. Proof of active "in effect" insurance is required to be given to Transformations Ministries 2. Show proof of a valid and current driver’s license. 3. Be employed. 4. Have the vehicle approved by your parole/probation officer. 5. Have the vehicle approved by the executive and/or re- entry director. III. HYGIENE/DRESS CODE A. Guidelines And RulesI. HOUSE INSPECTIONS

A. We are required to do occasional searches for drugs and illegal items through all personal property, which can and/or does involve the use of trained dogs.

B. We also are required to do periodic alcohol and drug tests with everyone in the home including the staff.

C. A search through all personal items will be done upon entering the home.

II. VEHICLES

A. In order to drive or own a vehicle, residents must:

1. Have the vehicle registered, insured and inspected with a proper title. Proof of active "in effect" insurance is required to be given to Transformations Ministries

2. Show proof of a valid and current driver’s license.3. Be employed.4. Have the vehicle approved by your parole/probation officer.5. Have the vehicle approved by the executive and/or re-entry director.

III. HYGIENE/DRESS CODE

A. Obscene logos, words or signs will not be allowed on any clothing.B. Earrings, nose rings or any type of piercing cannot be worn.C. Hair, mustaches and beards should present a neat appearance.D. Tattoos need to be covered as much as possible.E. Proper attire is required depending on the occasion (work, church, social events, recreation).F. A shirt and shorts/pants need to be worn throughout the day.G. All clothing or dress items are subject for approval by the re-entry director and may be

required to be stored away if it is inappropriate or does not positively represent Christ and the ministry.

IV. CLIENT BEDROOMS

A. Entering into another person’s room is by invitation only.B. Locks or inside latches cannot be added to the doors.C. Rooms are to be kept straight with personal items picked up and properly placed.

1. Clothes should either be folded or hung up.2. Dirty clothes should be placed in a personal hamper.3. There should not be any loose or opened food items in the rooms unless it is

placed in a personal refrigerator.4. Beds should be made in the morning.5. Headphones/Ear buds are to be used when listening to music, teaching, or TV etc.

D. Windows are not to be opened because of the use of the a/c and to prevent setting off the alarms.

E. All electrical devices need to be turned off when room is vacant. Headphones/Ear buds are to be used when listening to music, teaching, or TV etc.

F. All personal items are to be inspected and approved by the executive director and may be stored away until leaving the home. All transactions over $10.00 must be approved by executive director before any purchases are made.

V. MENTORS

A. Example.

1. Mentors will lead by serving2. Mentors will bring themselves down so that Christ can lift them up, for the benefit

of everyone.3. Mentors will allow the light of Jesus to shine through them.4. Mentors will lead by example.5. Mentors make up a team and will lead by obedience to the Word.6. Mentors will not take sides. If there is a disagreement, they will talk it over with

the re-entry director and come to a united decision.

B. Rooms

1. Entering into a mentor’s office or room is by invitation only.

C. Rules

1. Mentors are expected to know the rules and make sure they are followed at all times.

2. Mentors will be expected to wait for an approval for things that are not covered by the rules. They will never assume, so don’t expect them to.

VI. KITCHEN

A. The kitchen will be cleaned using a rotation.

1. Dishes should be washed, dried and put away immediately after use.2. Counters, sink, microwave, and refrigerator need to be wiped down daily.3. Floors should be swept and mopped daily.4. Food preparation areas must be cleaned with disinfectants or products containing

bleach daily.5. Trash should be held in approved areas only.

B. Meals will be prepared in the following ways -

1. Volunteer cooking – cooking classes will be held one hour a week.2. Pre-cooked meals (frozen foods)3. Fast ‘in-house’ food4. Dining out 5. House and individual food needs will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

C. Personal food is to be labeled and stored away in a designated area.

D. No grease should be poured down the kitchen drain, but poured in a can and stored in the refrigerator until full.

E. Please practice common sense for communal living. For example, no brushing of teeth should be done in the kitchen area.

F. All dishes, cups, utensils need to be rinsed with the hottest water with soap to prevent the spreading of cold, flu or other sickness immediately after use.

G. Please do not share eating utensils and cups.

VII. BATHROOMS

A. Bathrooms should always be kept clean and orderly.

1. Bathrooms/showers are to be squeegeed after every use2. Toilets, sinks, counters, floors and mirrors need to be cleaned daily.

B. Health and safety measures should be taken when using cleaning solutions.

1. It is important to use disinfectant cleaning products in order to kill bacteria and germs.2. You should not mix ammonia with any cleaning product that contains bleach or

poisonous gases will be produced. Never mix any chemicals without staff approval.

C. It is important to respect the time schedule of others.

1. Showers will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.2. House entry must be respectful of others involved in training.

D. It is also essential to practice good hygiene and Biblical modesty.

1. Showers shoes are mandatory.2. There will be no nudity outside of the shower when others are present in the

bathroom.3. Shorts and a shirt are to be worn anytime outside of room unless in pool area.4. Please do not share hygiene items.5. Carry out all personal hygiene items and belongings when leaving the bathroom.

VIII. OTHER ROOMS/HOUSE GUIDELINES

A. The iron and board stays in the laundry room and is not to be taken to any of the rooms. It can be taken into the den when the weather is bad.

B. Furniture or any other property of the Transformations house is not to be moved without the permission of a staff member.

C. The TV/VCR/DVD will only be operated by the staff and viewed only at approved times.D. All music needs to be approved by the executive director. Only Christian and instrumental

music is allowed. A list of suggested music will be made available. E. The watching of television is not allowed without the approval of the executive director. F. Movies brought into the home, must only be rated ‘G’ or ‘PG’ and will be subject for approval

by the executive director.G. There will be no use of the internet unless approved by the executive director.H. Cell phones must always be placed on ‘vibrate’ and can only be turned on during approved

times.I. Magazines and books need to be approved by the executive director.J. Eating and drinking will be allowed in the rooms, as long as it is picked up and cleaned

afterwards.K. Cooking is only allowed in designated areas.

IX. WASHER/DRYER/CLOTHES LINES

A. Please follow the instructions in operating the washer and dryer and clean the lint filter after every load (this is a major fire hazard!).

B. Keep an eye out for items like ink-pens and gum in the machines before loading clothes. C. No damaging items should be washed or dried. All items should be removed from pockets

before placing them in the washer/dryer.D. Tennis shoes should be air-dried and not placed in the dryer.E. Clothes should not be left in the washer or dryer but taken to the room as soon as they are

done. Please wash only full loads to prevent high water bills.F. The washing of all linen is mandatory once a week.G. Clothes should be washed in the machine only.H. All spills should be cleaned up and especially be careful with bleach.

X. Ground Maintenance

A. Concerning Trash

1. Continually look for trash in the yard and place in trashcans.2. There should be no stacking of trash in front of the house.3. Trash will be taken to dump Wednesdays and Saturdays

B. Concerning the Grass

1. Mow and edge grass as needed. Water according to schedule.2. Make sure to properly maintain the care of all equipment and use it according to the

instructions.3. Look at weekly schedule for assigned duties.

C. Concerning Outdoors

1. Sweep carports and patio according to schedule.2. Sleeveless shirts or undershirts are not allowed, but everyone is to be fully dressed.3. Headphones are to be used when listening to music outside. Same noise rules apply

outside as inside. Remember we are Christ's witnesses and our neighbors are watching. 4. This facility’s size demands continual care. Daily duties will be posted weekly. If the

house mentor agrees, resident can be locked into a duty assignment.

XI. ATTENDANCE

A. Attendance in classes is mandatory.B. Attendance in a weekly church service is mandatory.C. It is important to be on time for all classes, functions and services.

XII. GUESTS

A. Guests/visitors are not allowed without the pre-approval of the executive director.B. Phone calls and visits are not to interfere with any programming.C. Visitors will only be allowed during approved time, evenings and weekends. D. There will be no female visitors allowed unless they are a family member and are approved by

executive director.E. All guests and visitors must comply with the dress code while on the property.F. Visitors will not be allowed in resident’s rooms. G. Guest visits should take place in designated areas only.H. Guests/visitors will not be able to participate in the Transformations House program, but

immediate family such as the wife and children are encouraged to attend selected meetings upon approval.

House Director Signature: ___________________________________A. Pen paling, dating and phone calling with a woman that is not your wife is not allowed. We will be teaching Biblical dating practices so please wait for the training before you start.

B. The Christian life is not only about our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, but it is about our relationships with the people around us. There should be a reciprocating respect for anyone living in the home as well as volunteers and any other visitors or workers.

C. Obscene, inappropriate or vulgar language will not be allowed in the home.D. There should be no physical fighting or violent arguments in the home. Failure to keep peace can

result in immediate termination or suspension from the program.E. Any blatant disrespect or insubordination towards staff members, volunteers or any of the men

& women serving you can result in a possible termination from this program.

XIV. OTHER ISSUES

A. No pets are allowed. We have future plans for rescue dogs but they are future.B. There will no smoking or intoxicants of any kind allowed.C. Proper procedures and guidelines for prescription drugs are to be followed. Prescribed

medication will be checked in upon arrival to the home.D. Leaving the house property without a staff member can only be done by approval of the

executive director.E. Seeking employment will not be done until phase II or until permission is given by the executive

director.F. Cell phone numbers must be given to staff members.

XV. REGULATIONS FOR MISCONDUCT

A. Incident-evaluation forms will be filled out for every situation.B. When the client is counseled, he will be done so in the presence of two staff membersC. After three incidences, an evaluation will be made for possible termination from the program.
