Description Sizes Application

Scooped 0.2” Braided or loose material. Avoids snags and keeps material spread evenly.

Cylindrical 1/2” to 2” Flat material. Allows for testing the edge of a wide strip.

Flanged 1/2” to 1-1/2” Flat material. Edges keep material from sliding off.

Calibration TR meters are calibrated for a single material. When measuring other materials, the meter will provide a repeatable reference but not a direct tension reading. The standard calibration for TR instruments is a textile filament. For other materials, send us a material description or sample, and

request a special calibration.

Meter Dials TR meters have dial faces with black numbers for the first revolution of the pointer and red numbers for the second revolution.

Accuracy A TR meter with a standard calibration has accuracy of +/- 8% of the meter’s full scale. Higher accuracy (up to +/- 2%) may be achieved by requesting a special calibration. For a special calibration, send us a sample of your material and specify your expected tension range. Accuracy for special calibrations depends on the properties of the material.

We also recommend TX-1 digital instruments, which measure a wide variety of materials with

+/- 1% full-scale accuracy .
