Clean the TV with a dry and softcloth. Do not use benzine, thinner,or any other chemicals to clean theTV. Do not attach anything (e.g.,adhesive tape, cellophane tape,glue) on the painted cabinet of theTV. Do not scratch the picturetube.

WARNING• Dangerously high voltages are present inside the TV.• TV operating voltage: 220 – 240 V AC.• Do not plug in the power cord until you have completed making all other

connections; otherwise a minimum leakage current might flow through the antennaand other terminals to ground.

• To avoid battery leakage and damage to the remote, remove the batteries from theremote if you are not going to use it for several days. If any liquid leaks from thebatteries and touches your skin, immediately wash it away with water.

Install the TV on a stable TV standand floor which can support theTV set weight. Ensure that the TVstand surface is flat and its area islarger than the bottom area of theTV.

Do not plug in too manyappliances to the same powersocket. Do not damage the powercord.

For children’s safety, do not leavechildren alone with the TV. Do notallow children to climb onto it.

For your own safety, do not touchany part of the TV, the power cordand the antenna cable duringlightning storms.

Do not place any objects on the TV.The apparatus shall not beexposed to dripping or splashingand that no objects filled withliquids, such as vases, shall beplaced on the apparatus.

Do not operate the TV if any liquidor solid object falls into it. Have itchecked immediately by qualifiedpersonnel only.

Do not block the ventilationopenings of the TV. Do not installthe TV in a confined space, suchas a bookcase or built-in cabinet.

Do not open the cabinet and therear cover of the TV as highvoltages and other hazards arepresent inside the TV. Referservicing and disposal of the TVto qualified personnel.

Pull the power cord out by theplug. Do not pull the power corditself. Even if your TV is turnedoff, it is still connected to the ACpower source (mains) as long asthe power cord is plugged in.Unplug the TV before moving itor if you are not going to use it forseveral days.

To prevent fire or shock hazard, donot expose the TV to rain ormoisture.

Your TV is recommended forhome use only. Do not use the TVin any vehicle or where it may besubject to excessive dust, heat,moisture or vibrations.

Installation

x Securing the TVTo prevent the TV from falling, use the supplied screws, clamps and band tosecure the TV.

Screw the band to the TV stand and to theprovided hole at the rear of your TV.

(1) Put a cord or chain through the clamps.(2) Screw one clamp to a wall or pillar and

the other clamp to the provided hole atthe rear of your TV.

(1) Attach each end of a cord or chain tothe provided holders at the rear ofyour TV.

(2) Securely fix the attached cord or chainto a wall or pillar using an attachmentwhich can support the TV set weight.

Note• Use only the supplied screws. Use of other screws may damage the TV.

Insert the batteries (supplied) into the remote.

Note• Do not use old or different types of batteries together.

Set up the TV by following the instructions of the“Initial Setup” menu (see page 6).

Plug in the power cord, then press ! on the TV toturn it on.

Note• The 1 (standby) indicator flashes green for a few seconds

when turning on the TV. This does not indicate amalfunction.

Connect the antenna cable (not supplied) to 8(antenna input) at the rear of the TV.

Tips• Your TV can receive both TV and FM radio signal from

appropriate connections through the 8 (antenna input)terminal (see page 23).

• You can also connect your TV to other optional components(see page 22).

6 Installation


x Setting up your TV (“Initial Setup”)When you turn on your TV for the first time, the “Initial Setup” menu willappear. You may change the menu language, preset the TV channelsautomatically, sort or edit the channels and adjust the picture position using thebuttons on the remote control or TV front panel.

1 Press V or v to select the desired menulanguage, then press .

The selected menu language appears.

2 Press V or v to select “Yes”, then press topreset the channels automatically.

The screen will indicate automaticpresetting is in progress.

After all available channels have been tunedand stored, the “Program Sorting/Edit”menu appears automatically on the screen.

To skip automatic channel presetting, select“No”, then press .

If the message “No channel found. Pleaseconnect cable/antenna” appears, check yourTV connections, then press .

3 The “Program Sorting/Edit” menu enablesyou to sort and edit the channels.

a) If you wish to keep the channels in the currentcondition, press WEGA GATE to exit.

b) Press V or v to select the programnumber with the channel you wish tochange. The selected channel will appearon the screen.

c) If you wish to store the channels in adifferent order:

1) Press b to enter sorting mode.

2) Press V or v to select the new programnumber position for your selectedchannel, then press B.

Press b until the mode that you wish to editis highlighted: Label, Skip, (block symbol).Then press .

1) To label, press V or v to select thealphanumeric characters for the label.Then press .

2) To skip the program number, press V or v toselect “On”. Then press .

You can skip this program number whenusing PROG +/-.

3) To block unwanted program number,press V or v to select . Then press .

e) Repeat step b) to d) if you wish to change otherchannels.

Press WEGA GATE to go to the next menu.

4 Press B or b to adjust the bars on the topand bottom of the menu if they areslanted, then press .

If no adjustment is necessary, then press .

6 To prevent this “Initial Setup” menu fromappearing again when you turn on the TVby pressing !, press V or v to select “No”,then press .

To allow this menu to appear again, select“Yes”, then press .

Tip• You can immediately go to the end of the ”Initial Setup” menu by pressing WEGA GATE.

x Enjoying the Party ModeYou can sing duet along with any music program of TV broadcast or with anyaudio/video equipment or create visual presentations (e.g., photos or videostories) with narration and favorite background music by using the Party Modefeature.

1 Select the input connected to your audio/video equipment.

2 Connect the microphone (not supplied) to the microphone input terminaland switch it on.You can begin singing or speaking from the microphone at the last TV volumesetting. You can press A/B button on remote control to switch between left (“L”)or right (“R”) channel sound for VCD karaoke source only (either music or vocal)when video input is selected and “Audio Input Fix” is set to “Off”.

3 Press WEGA GATE and select “Party Mode”.

4 Select “MIC 1 Level”, “MIC 2 Level” or “Echo Level”, then press . Press V, v,B, or b to adjust the microphone volume and echo level of the microphonesound, then press .

5 If you want to reduce the vocal of the singer or speaker, select “On” from“Vocal Reducer” and press (effective for non-karaoke stereo source only).

6 Select “Audio Input Fix” and press , then press V or v to select the inputconnected to the audio equipment from which you want to hear the sound:“Video 1”, “Video 2”, “Video 3”, “Video 4” or “DVD”.To revert to the original sound source, select “Off”, then press .

7 Selecting “Reset” will set your TV to the factory settings (except for “AudioInput Fix”).

Tip• Microphone volume will be affected by TV volume.

Notes• Be sure to adjust the microphone and echo level to the minimum level before plugging in and

disconnecting the microphone.• For your own safety, do not use or plug in the microphone during lightning storms.• Keep microphone away from the speakers and adjust its volume to avoid acoustic feedback

(howling) and distortion.• “Vocal Reducer” will set to “Off” if you select “L” or “R” channel sound.

x Listening to the FM RadioYou are able to listen to the FM radio stations using your TV.

To access to FM Radio mode:Press WEGA GATE button and select “FM Radio” (see page 15).

Listening to non-preset stations

1 Access to FM Radio mode.

2 Press V or v to search for the desired FM radio station. The preset numberand label will not be displayed.

3 If the station has a weak signal, press B or b to fine tune the radio frequencymanually.

Notes• You can only operate V, v, B and b functions using the remote control buttons in FM

Radio mode.• The available radio frequency is only for temporary listening pleasure and cannot be

stored in the memory.• If the message “Please setup FM Radio” appears, display the “Channel Setup” menu and

select “FM Radio Setup” to preset the desired FM radio stations (see page 19).

Note• When a FM stereo program has static noise, press A/B until “Mono” appears. There will be no

stereo effect, but the noise will be reduced.

Listening to preset stations

1 Access to FM Radio mode.

2 Press WEGA GATE button and select “Settings”.Preset the desired FM radio stations in “FM RadioSetup” from “Channel Setup” menu (see page 19).

3 Exit from “Channel Setup” menu by pressingWEGA GATE button. The selected preset FM radiostation number and label will appear on the screen.To select the desired preset FM radio station, pressPROG +/–.Tip• You can also use the 1-9 buttons on the remote control to

directly select the desired preset FM radio station.

x Changing the “Picture” settingThe “Picture” menu allows you to adjust the picture settings.

1 Press WEGA GATE and select “Settings”.

2 Make sure the “Picture” icon ( ) isselected, then press .

3 Press V or v to select the desired item (e.g., “Picture Mode”), then press .

“Color Temperature” adjust white color tint.Choose either “Cool” (blue tint), “Neutral” (neutral tint) or“Warm” (red tint).

* You can adjust the setting to your personal preference in the “Picture Adjustment” and“Color Temperature” options only when the “Custom” mode is selected.

1 Press V or v to select either “Picture” (contrast), “Brightness”, “Color”,“Hue” (color tones) or “Sharpness”, then press .

Selecting “Reset” will set your TV to the factory settings.

2 Press V,v,B or b to adjust the setting of your selected item, then press .

3 Repeat the above steps to adjust other items.

The adjusted settings will be received when you select “Custom”.

Notes• “Hue” can be adjusted for the NTSC color system only.• Reducing “Sharpness” can also reduce picture noise.

“Surround” choose either “TruSurround” (surround sound that spreads outto the rear of a room), “WOW”** (full, deep bass sound),“Simulated” (stereo-like monaural sound) or “Off”.

* You can adjust the setting to your personal preference in the “Sound Adjustment”option only when the “Custom” mode is selected.

** BBE High Definition Sound is fully activated maximizing the sound effect in WOW mode.

Note• “Intelligent Volume” is not selectable when “TruSurround” is selected or when the

microphone input terminal is connected.

Adjusting the “Sound Adjustment” items under “Custom”modeThe 5-Band Graphic Equalizer feature allows you to adjust sound frequency settingsof “Custom” mode in the menu.

1 Make sure that “Adjust” is selected, then press .Selecting “Reset” will set your TV to the factory settings.

2 Press B or b to select the desired sound frequency, then press V or v toadjust the setting and press .The adjusted settings will be received when you select “Custom”.

Notes• Adjusting higher frequency will affect higher pitched sound and adjusting lower frequency

will affect lower pitched sound.• You may display the settings directly by using the button on the remote control (see

page 9).

x Changing the “Channel Setup” settingThe “Channel Setup” menu allows you to preset channels automatically,manually preset channels, sort or edit the channels and preset FM radio stations.


2 Press V or v to select the “Channel Setup”icon ( ), then press .

3 Press V or v to select the desired item (e.g., “Auto Program”), then press .

“Auto Program” preset channels automatically.

“Manual Program” manually preset desired channels and channels that cannot bepreset automatically (see Presetting channels manually inpage 20).

“Program Sorting/Edit” change the order in which the channels appear on the screen,label the program number, skip the program number and blockunwanted programs.(see step 3 of the section “Initial Setup” in page 6).

“FM Radio Setup”* preset up to nine FM radio stations.You can manually preset each FM radio station that can bereceived in your area and then store the radio frequency of thedesired FM radio stations.(1) Press V or v to select the desired FM radio station position,

then press .(2) Press V or v to search the FM radio stations.

Searching stops automatically when a station is tuned in.If the station has a weak signal, press B or b to fine tune theradio frequency manually, then press to store the FMradio station.

(3) You may edit the FM radio station label. Press V or v toselect alphanumeric characters for the label, then press .

x 介紹 WEGA GATE 指示系統WEGA GATE 是個允許您進入預設電視頻道﹐已連接的外接輸入﹐調頻收音模式﹐派對模式和“设定”菜單的通道。

如何使用 WEGA GATE 菜單

(1) 按壓 WEGA GATE 鍵以顯示或取消 WEGA GATE 菜單。

x Mengaturkan TV anda (“Initial Setup”)Apabila anda memasangkan TV pada kali pertama, menu “Initial Setup” akanmuncul. Anda boleh menukar bahasa menu, mengatur saluran TV secaraautomatik, menukar susunan saluran atau menyunting saluran dan melaraskankedudukan gambar dengan menggunakan butang pada alat kawalan jauh ataupanel hadapan TV.

1 Tekan V atau v untuk memilih bahasa menuyang dikehendaki, kemudian tekan .

Bahasa menu yang dipilih akan muncul.

2 Tekan V atau v untuk memilih “Yes”,kemudian tekan untuk mengatur saluransecara automatik.

Skrin TV akan menunjukkan pengaturanautomatik sedang dijalankan.

Setelah semua saluran yang boleh didapatiselesai ditala dan disimpan, menu “ProgramSorting/Edit” akan muncul secara automatikpada skrin.

Untuk melangkau pengaturan saluran secaraautomatik, pilih “No”, kemudian tekan .

Jika mesej “No channel found. Please connectcable/antenna” muncul, periksa sambungan TVanda, kemudian tekan .

3 Menu “Program Sorting/Edit” membolehkananda menukar susunan saluran danmenyunting saluran.

a) Jika anda ingin simpan saluran dalam keadaansekarang, tekan WEGA GATE untuk keluar.

b) Tekan V atau v untuk memilih nomborrancangan dengan saluran yang anda ingintukar. Saluran yang dipilih akan muncul padaskrin.

c) Jika anda ingin simpan saluran dalam susunanyang berlainan:

x Menikmati “Party Mode”Anda boleh menyanyi duet bersama dengan mana-mana program muzik siaran TVatau dengan peralatan audio/video atau menghasilkan persembahan visual(contohnya kisah foto atau video) berserta penceritaan dan muzik latar belakangpilihan yang digemari dengan menggunakan ciri “Party Mode”.

1 Pilih input yang disambung kepada peralatan audio/video anda.

2 Sambungkan mikrofon (tidak dibekalkan) kepada terminal input mikrofon danpasangkan suis mikrofon.

Anda boleh mula menyanyi atau bercakap daripada mikrofon pada seting bunyi TV yangterakhir. Anda boleh menekan butang A/B pada alat kawalan jauh untuk menukar diantara saluran bunyi kiri (“L”) atau kanan (“R”) (sama ada muzik atau vokal) apabilainput video telah dipilih dan “Audio Input Fix” telah diaturkan kepada “Off” (untuksumber VCD karaoke sahaja).

3 Tekan WEGA GATE dan memilih “Party Mode”.

4 Pilih “MIC 1 Level”, “MIC 2 Level” atau “Echo Level”, kemudian tekan . TekanV,v,B atau b untuk melaraskan paras bunyi mikrofon dan paras gema pada bunyimikrofon, kemudian tekan .

5 Jika anda ingin mengurangkan vokal daripada orang yang menyanyi atau berucap,pilih “On” daripada “Vocal Reducer” dan tekan (berkesan untuk sumber yangbukan karaoke stereo sahaja).

6 Pilih “Audio Input Fix” dan tekan , kemudian tekan V atau v untuk memilihsambungan input peralatan audio yang anda ingin dengari bunyi tersebut: ”Video1”, “Video 2”, “Video 3”, “Video 4” atau “DVD”.

Untuk kembali semula kepada sumber bunyi yang asal, pilih “Off”, kemudian tekan .

7 Memilih “Reset” akan mengaturkan TV anda kepada aturan kilang (kecuali “AudioInput Fix”).

• Paras bunyi mikrofon akan dipengaruhi oleh bunyi TV.Nota

• Pastikan anda melaraskan paras bunyi dan gema mikrofon ke paras yang minimum sebelummenyambung atau menanggalkan mikrofon.

• Untuk keselamatan diri, jangan guna atau pasangkan mikrofon semasa kilat.• Jauhkan mikrofon daripada pembesar-pembesar suara dan laraskan bunyi mikrofon untuk mengelakkan

Pilih Untuk“Auto Program” mengatur saluran secara automatik.“Manual Program” mengatur saluran yang diingini secara manual dan saluran yang tidak

“Program Sorting/Edit” menukar susunan saluran yang muncul pada skrin, melabelkan nomborrancangan, melangkau nombor rancangan dan menyekat rancanganyang tidak diingini.(rujuk langkah 3 dalam bahagian “Initial Setup” di halaman 6).

“FM Radio Setup”* mempraset sehingga sembilan stesen radio FM.Anda boleh mempraset setiap stesen radio FM yang boleh diterima dikawasan anda secara manual dan kemudian menyimpan frekuensistesen radio FM yang dikehendaki.(1) Tekan V atau v untuk memilih kedudukan stesen radio FM yang

dikehendaki, kemudian tekan .(2) Tekan V atau v untuk mencari stesen radio FM.

Penggelintaran akan berhenti secara automatik apabila stesenselesai ditala. Jika stesen tersebut mempunyai isyarat yang lemah ,tekan B atau b untuk menyetel frekuensi radio secara manual,kemudian tekan untuk menyimpan stesen radio FM.

1 Selepas memilih “Manual Program”, pilih nomborrancangan bagi saluran yang ingin anda aturkan.
