The management of traffic flow and

than 15 streets and arterial roads of Port-
Louis.
- A bicycle path, alongside green zones,
health walks and relaxation areas, will
circle through the city over more than 2
km between Champs-de-Mars and the
Waterfront.
- Conversion of more than 2,500 m of
streets into pedestrian paths.
Sustainable development is at the heart
of this Master plan for Port-Louis, with
a special focus on thalassothermia, an
alternative energy. Cold water drawn from
ocean depths will cool water from an air
conditioning network running through the
town. This structure, a technological feat,
will also serve as a wooded footbridge: a
green sanctuary alongside the city and
its sea side.
Port-Louis aims to become a smart and
connected town:
- Smart applications will be developed for
the management of the electric networks,
waste, buildings or logistic systems.
- Big Data to anticipate traffic jams,
facilitate traffic flow, manage parking
around the city or provide cultural and
