Individualized Treatment

Our approach is highly individualized and tailored to each person’s needs and situation. Our goal is to empower the individual, strengthen the family, and ensure healthy decision making.

Counseling

Teens strengthen coping and communication skills, learn about relationships, and develop a strong self identity through individual therapy, group sessions, and family therapy.

Participants thrive in a vibrant therapeutic environment that encourages them to safely and appropriately express their opinions, assert their needs, and share their feelings in a warm and respectful atmosphere.

Additional group components of drug education, moral reasoning, and anger management enrich youth development and the achievement of treatment goals.

Developmental Relevance We recognize the developmental differences between adolescents and adults, and incorporate these distinctions into the program features and curriculum. Teens learn how substances and addiction affect their brains and bodies differently from adults.

Family Involvement

Families participate actively in counseling and educational group sessions. Family therapy and multi-family support groups are core aspects of the program to address the impact of substance abuse on the entire family.

All educational materials are geared toward families during multi-family sessions so that parents, siblings and other family supports can work together in building a healthier life.

Flexible evening sessions are offered to accommodate working family members.

TOWER Program Philosophy

The TOWER intervention model is person-centered and strength-based in order to facilitate and highlight a teen’s natural interests, resilience, and motivation for health and sobriety.

We incorporate practices from evidence- based Multidimensional Family Therapy to address core issues in a teen’s life, including personal, familial, social, school, work, and environmental factors. We work with each program participant to encourage healthy development, transition to independence, and a balanced lifestyle.
