Gold Loan Scheme

The Gold Loan Scheme has been set up to provide working capital loans to gold jewellery manufacturers.

The working capital loans under the Scheme are provided at a fixed interest rate of 3% per annum.

Funding Criteria

• Thebusinessmusthaveeconomicmerit

• Clientmustrequireaminimumof4kgandamaximumof10kgofgold

• Theclientmusthaveasecuredcontract/s

• FundingwillonlybeavailableformanufacturingactivitiestakingplaceinSouthAfrica

• Financialcontributionfromownerswillberequired.Thiswillbedeterminedonaprojectbyprojectbasis

• Theclientmustpossessrequisitestatutoryapprovalsanddocumentsforhandlingpreciousmetals

• Onlyexistingbusinesseswillbefunded

• Securitywillberequired,suchwillbedeterminedonacasebycasebasis

• TheclientmustcomplywiththeIDC’snormalfundingrequirements

• Theclientmusthaveadequateinsuranceagainstgoldloss

• Acceptablephysicalsecurityandmetalsmanagementsystemswillberequired
