Surfing is a 365 days a year activity in Portugal. Or 366 if it’s a leap year. This is not an exaggeration, since the extensive Portuguese coast o�ers great waves every day. And there are many ways to tackle them, it all depends on your skill and enthusiasm.

Stretching for more than 850km, the Portuguese coast is a gigantic surfing beach. No other coastal strip in the world can o�er such a great number of spots in such a short distance, so in Portugal you can always rely on the waves. Our suggestions are:

MIRA D’AIRE CAVES& TREKING

Visit the largest cave system and underground tour in Portugal with three caves

stretching underground for about 11 Km. The entrance is 300m in altitude, but

inside they reach 180m in depth. Their formation goes back 150 million years to

the Middle Jurassic age, when the dinosaurs populated this region. The caves are

lit with coloured lights that emphasize the beauty of the stalagmites and stalac-

tites shape.

NAZARÉ

The long sandy half-moon shaped beach, which is also the town´s sea front, is known for its grandeur and for the brightly-coloured awnings that decorate the white sandy beach-es, contrasting with the blue of the water.

This is the beach in Portugal that retains the more colorful fishing traditions, and it’s not uncommon to encounter fishmongers who still wear the traditional seven skirts.

Facing the sea on he right, we will see an impressive headland. This is Sitio, which pro-vides one of the most famous views of the Portuguese coast. It is a 318 meter rock face with a sheer drop to the sea, and is reached on foot by the bravest, or by going up the funicular.

In this fishing village you will have the opportunity to see the spot where Garret Mc-Namara set a new world record in 2011, surfing a 90ft wave, and where he claimed to have broken his own record in January 2013, catching a 100ft wave

Following the events known as the Apparitions of Fátima, in the early part of the 20th century,

Fátima has become one of the key centers for the Cult of the Virgin Mary in Portugal and has been

recognized world-wide by the Catholic Church.

In this tour you will also be able to visit Batalha Monastery, the biggest example in Portugal of the

late gothic Portuguese style, where you will find a mix of the gothic style and Manuelino Art –

symbol of the Portuguese maritime expansion.

Alcobaça Monastery is also part of this tour, a 12th century monastery not only famous for its ar-

chitectural style but it for being a monument in memory of King D. Pedro I and D. Inês de Castro

Coimbra is the most important city to the south of the Douro river.

Coimbra was the setting for the forbidden love of Dom Pedro I (1357-67) and Dona Inês, a lady at

court. Inês was executed at the orders of the king Dom Afonso IV, who saw in this romance the

danger of Portugal being submitted to the rule of Castile. An inspiration to poets and writers,

their story still forms a major part of the city's rich heritage.

Coimbra was the capital of Portugal during the Middle Ages, but it was the Renaissance that

transformed the city into a place of knowledge, when Dom João III (1521-57) decided to move the

University to the city on a definitive basis, whilst at the same time numerous colleges were creat-

ed to provide an alternative to the o�cial form of teaching.

• Any reservations to be confirmed upon reception of total payment;

CANCELATION POLICY:

• Cancellation more then a week in advance: administration costs of 15%;

• Cancellation between a week and 48 hours prior to service date: 50% of the

total amount;
