Masters, instructors, competitors, and guests, let me be the first to invite you to the Way of the Stick and Blade: Tournament of Filipino Martial Arts to be held on Sunday November 10th, 2013 at the luxurious Hilton LAX in Los Angeles, California. This tournament would not be possible without the gracious hosts of the Pacific Media Expo. Don’t be surprised by the sight of fans of cosplay, anime, Hong Kong Cinema, Korean Drama, J-Pop, Console Gaming, and much more touring the same venue. There is no other venue or establishment in the world where you will be able to see the high paced action of competitive Filipino Martial Arts alongside other media currently coming out of Asia. This tournament is geared to promote and propagate the Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) of eskrima, kali, and arnis through healthy competition. It is our hope to help give experience to any first time competitors as well as provide those long time practitioners an open venue to test and hone their skills. We offer several competitive FMA events such as Sayaw/ Forms, Live Single Stick Sparring, Padded Stick Sparring, Padded Blade Sparring, and Mixed Weapons Padded Blade Sparring. We have been running this highly successful tournament at PMX for the past five years and have a wealth of experience and knowledge to provide you with one of the best experiences you will have at a tournament such as this.

All competitors who pre-register before Saturday October 26th, 2013 and the heads of their schools will receive a tournament shirt and a 3-day PMX Convention pass. Our programming department has plenty in store for you on Saturday at PMX where we offer several hands on Martial Arts workshops for you to participate in as well as the many fun and interesting programs that PMX has to offer. Unfortunately for those who miss this deadline they will have to pay additional for these two items as well as increased costs for registration. So make sure you send your registration in early!!! As mentioned earlier, we would like to provide a positive competitive atmosphere and allow all competitors the chance to gain experience from this event. All first time competitors will be guaranteed at least two matches and the new Padded Stick Sparring format will be conducted in double elimination format for them. We will be posting several videos regarding the rules for each event in the next couple of weeks throughout the popular media outlets such as Facebook, Youtube, and Google.
