A 34 km from the city of Santa Marta is one of the most important natural parks of Colombia. It is home to a large number of species distributed in regions with different climatic zones ranging from sea level to heights of 900 m.

On April 24, 1964 through Resolution No. 191 of the Colombian Institute for Agrarian Reform - INCORA declared the region a natural park to guarantee the reservation and ecosystem conservation, the resolution was amended by the Agreement in April 1969 and approved by Resolution 292 of INDERENA the same year.

Of the 15,000 hectares of the park, 3,000 are marine area

In the coastal strip of the park are distributed over 350 species of algae while terrestrial flora has over 770 different plant species.

This park is known for its tropical scenery, coral reefs, white beaches, rocky shores, mangroves and lagoons

is an estate founded February 2, 1608 by Don Francisco De Godoy and courtesy, was the place where Simon Bolivar spent his last days, and where he died on December 17, 1830. La Quinta is located in the neighborhood Mamatoco, in the city of Santa Marta, Magdalena Department, Colombia. La Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino is considered a sanctuary of the homeland. It also places the seventeenth century a farm dedicated to the production of rum, honey and brown sugar.

The clock tower

The main entrance of the old city of Cartagena de Indias was located in the Clock Tower. At first, the clock tower was only one arc to go, I mean the middle. Originally, the door had a weapons room and a chapel inside which was then replaced by two arcs remaining in the eighteenth century. This construction is largely damaged during an enemy invasion.

Even today, in this splendid work, we can see in the central arch brands and sites of the old pendulum clock in 1888, were replaced by present and receive the name of the Clock Tower. The external appearance of the tower has its central arch, a Tuscan-style portico and the interior is rather severe.
