Congratulations on having been selected as IST for the upcoming 24th World Scout Jamboree, taking place in West Virginia, USA next summer. I’m sure the excitement is already building in preparation for what promises to be an amazing adventure, joining with up to 50,000 other Scouts and Guides next July to create memories and friendships that you’ll treasure forever.

The UK Contingent Management Team have lots planned during the event and Travel Places, as the official travel provider to the UK contingent, will be providing service and assistance in all elements of your travel arrangements. In addition, we’re pleased to present our range of optional Additional Tours, each of which can be added on as part of your post World Scout Jamboree experience whether you’re taking travel package option A, C or D.

For some, this will be your first visit to the States, for others the opportunity to return and explore another area of this vast and varied region.

Either way, we’ve selected seven amazing itineraries covering everything from the soaring city skyscrapers of New York to the melodies of Memphis, the sparkling waters of San Francisco Bay to the culinary and cultural flavours of Mexico, from the pavement cafés and old world charm of Canada’s greatest cities to time with Mickey and friends in the theme park capital of the world.

In short, there’s something for everyone here.

All you need to do is choose which of our optional Additional Tours suits you best.

HOW TO BOOK

Members of the Travel Places team will be attending the IST weekend at Walesby on the 2nd and 3rd of June, 2018 and will be available throughout the weekend to discuss your travel plans and options.

Following the IST weekend, a link to the Travel Places booking portal will be emailed to all attendees. You will then be able to request your place on one of our seven tours, and subject to availability, secure your booking by paying a £100.00 deposit. Bookings can be made until the 30th of June 2018.

Before you book, you should be aware of the following:

Tour pricing: The tour prices printed in this brochure represent the cost of ground arrangements only. Additional costs may apply to cover flights from the Washington DC area to the departure point for your tour. Please check with the Travel Places team for further details.

Departure date: Our Additional Tours will provisionally run from Monday 5th August 2019. Dates will be confirmed when the Jamboree Organisers and UK Contingent have confirmed IST plans as part of the main event programme.

Duration: Each tour is for five (5) nights in country, plus an

additional overnight onboard your flight home. Group size: Travel Places will operate tours on a minimum/

maximum number, trying our best to make sure everyone gets the opportunity to book the tour that they want. A waiting list will open on any tour that is over subscribed, and should there be the demand to operate an additional tour, IST will be informed. If there is not enough uptake on a particular tour for it to operate, IST will be offered the chance to swap to a different tour or accept a refund on their deposit.

Personal travel You must make sure you have valid, acceptabledocuments: passports and any required visas/ESTAs or other

documentation for both your final destination and any stop-off points en-route.

It is your responsibility to arrange and pay for these personal travel documents. Our team will advise you on any additional documents you may need in relation to your chosen tour.

Travel Places cannot accept responsibility for individuals not obtaining the relevant paperwork.

Travel insurance: Adequate travel insurance is essential and we

strongly advise you to obtain this at the time of booking for the full period of your trip. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance policy you purchase is suitable, covers your requirements and is adequate for your particular needs and travel arrangements. Please read your policy carefully and take it with you.

Baggage allowance: A different baggage allowance may apply to

your US Domestic flight(s). Please ask for more information when booking.

Inclusions/Tour extras: A full tour itinerary is available for each tour at

www.travelplaces.co.uk/wsj-additional-tours This clearly outlines what is and what isn’t included within each of our tours, please ensure that you have read this prior to booking.

Room basis: Tours will be based on twin share – two people sharing a room (separate beds). You will be given the opportunity to pick who you would like to share with. Don’t worry if you do not know who you would like to share with, we’ll do our best to match you with someone of the same gender and a similar age, where possible.

Single rooms are available on request, additional costs will apply.

Tips and gratuities: Tipping is expected throughout the USA, Canada

and Mexico. Please factor this into your additional expenses.

Booking process: All bookings will be made via the Travel Places IST

Booking deposit: To secure your booking you will need to pay

a non-refundable deposit of £100 by 30th June 2018.

Balance payment: Your balance payment must be completed

Travel Places All tours and excursions will be escorted by24hr service: an English speaking local guide as contracted

through Travel Places and our local suppliers. On days where ‘free time’ is scheduled there will be no local guide available. In addition to the local support there will be access to a Travel Places emergency phone number, 24 hours a day.

Financial protection: Travel Places is fully licensed and bonded with
