QUICK-START GUIDE FOR PCs

1. INSERT THE DISCAfter inserting the disc, the Bitdefender installer will start automatically. Click INSTALL to begin.If your internet speed is slow, or your system is not connected to the internet, click Install from CD/DVD. In this case, the Bitdefender product available on the disc will be installed and a newer version will be downloaded from the Bitdefender servers via product update.To open the detailed User’s Guide, click the corresponding button.Note. If the installer does not start automatically:1. Access My Computer in Windows 7; from the Windows Start screen locate Computer (for example, you can start typing “Computer” directly in the Start screen), and then right-click its icon; in Windows 8 (in Windows 8.1 locate This PC); type System in the search box from the taskbar and click its icon in Windows 10.2. Right-click the icon of your disc drive and select Explore in the menu that appears to view the directory list of the disc.3. Double-click the Autorun.exe fi le to begin.

2. VALIDATING THE INSTALLATIONBitdefender will fi rst check your system to validate the installation. If your system does not meet the minimum requirements for installing Bitdefender, you will be informed of the areas that need improvement before you can proceed. The Bitdefender Total Security installation package is constantly updated.


3. BITDEFENDER INSTALLATIONStep 1. Before proceeding with the installation, you have to agree with the Subscription Agreement. Please take some time to read the Subscription Agreement as it contains the terms and conditions under which you may use Bitdefender Total Security.Keep the Send anonymous reports option enabled to send us essential information for improving the product and help us provide a better experience in the future. Select the language you want to install the product in. Click INSTALL to launch the installation process of your Bitdefender product.Step 2. Installation in progress. Critical areas on your system are scanned for threats and the Bitdefender services are started. This step can take a few minutes.Step 3. Your Bitdefender product is successfully installed. A summary of the installation is displayed. If any active threat was detected and removed during the installation, a system reboot may be required. Click START USING BITDEFENDER to continue. Step 4. Bitdefender account. After you complete the initial setup, the Bitdefender Account window appears. A Bitdefender account is required to activate the product and use its online features.a) I want to create a Bitdefender accountTo successfully create a Bitdefender account, type the required information in the corresponding fi elds. Before proceeding further you have to agree with the Terms of use. Access the Terms of use and read them carefully as they contain the terms and conditions under which you may use Bitdefender. Additionally, you can access and read the Privacy Policy. Click CREATE ACCOUNT.Note. Once the account is created, you can use the provided email address and password to log in to your account at https://central.bitdefender.com, or in the Bitdefender Central app provided that it is installed on one of your Android or iOS devices. To install the Bitdefender Central app on your devices:

• On Android –access Google Play, search Bitdefender Central, and then download and install the app.• On iOS –access App Store, search Bitdefender Central, and then download and install the app.

Step 5a. Get Started. Type in the corresponding fi eld the activation code you have purchased, and then click CONTINUE. Click FINISH to access the Bitdefender main interface.b) I already have a Bitdefender accountClick Sign In, and then type the email address and the password of your Bitdefender account. Click SIGN IN to continue.Step 5b. Get Started. In the Get Started window you can see the validity of your subscription. Click FINISH to access the Bitdefender main interface.


4. ENJOY MULTI-LAYER PROTECTIONBitdefender will check for security updates every hour, and you are not required to confi gure any settings. However, feel free to take advantage of the confi guration options to fi ne-tune and improve protection.From time to time, open Bitdefender and fi x any existing security issues. To keep your Bitdefender product working at its full capacity and increase protection while carrying out different activities, check out the Autopilot recommendations. Each time you connect to an unsecured wireless network, use the Bitdefender VPN app to secure your online activity, hide your IP address, or access content that normally is restricted in certain areas.Due to the embedded Photon technology, the impact on the system will be reduced to zero. Photon is an innovative non-intrusive Bitdefender technology, designed to minimize the performance impact of antivirus protection. By monitoring your PC’s activity in the background, it creates usage patterns that help optimize booting and scanning processes.

1. INSTALLING YOUR SOFTWAREBitdefender Mobile Security is available on the Android Market. Search Bitdefender on https://play.google.com/store to fi nd and install the app. Alternatively, scan the QR code.



2. VALIDATING THE INSTALLATIONBefore going through the validation steps, you have to agree with the Subscription Agreement. Please take some time to read the Subscription Agreement as it contains the terms and conditions under which you may use Bitdefender Mobile Security. Tap CONTINUE to proceed to the next window.To use Bitdefender Mobile Security you must link your device to a Bitdefender, Facebook, Google, or Microsoft account by signing in to the account from the app. If you do not have a Bitdefender account, you can create one.

3. SETUP WIZARDOnce you successfully sign in to the app, the setup wizard appears. To secure your device, we recommend you to go through these steps:Step 1. Subscription status. If you have an activation code, tap I HAVE A CODE, and then tap ACTIVATE.Step 2. Web Protection. If your device requires Accessibility to activate Web Protection, tap ACTIVATE. You are redirected to the Accessibility menu. Tap Bitdefender Mobile Security, and then turn on the corresponding switch. Step 3 .Malware Scanner. Run a one-time scan to make sure that your device is free from threats. To initiate the scan process, tap SCAN NOW.


4. ENJOY YOUR ANDROID. WE KEEP IT SAFEFor anti-theft protection, make sure to enable the features you want to use from Bitdefender Mobile Security, when your phone is lost or stolen, access the Anti-Theft section in your Bitdefender account linked to your device from any web browser, anywhere.There are two way to access your Bitdefender account:

To completely secure your web browsing experience, click the Fix Now option in the Web Protection pane from the Bitdefender interface, and then click the Get Extension button in the window which appears.The Traffi cLight extensions are activated in the browsers you have installed to protect you against online phishing and block any malicious content.To keep your Bitdefender product working at its full capacity and increase protection while carrying our different activities, check out the Autopilot recommendations.
