Filters worden vaak gebruikt om PD-meters,

turbines en andere flowmeters te beschermen

tegen vervuiling door (vaste) deeltjes.

Filters kunnen een gunstig effect hebben op de

levensduur en hercalibratie interval van

flowmeters.

Filters zijn vaak een verplichte keuze omdat

bijvoorbeeld PD-meters zelfs de flow kunnen

blokkeren door opeenhoping van vaste deeltjes.
