Library puts Toronto on Movie Map

-Business formed to help film and TV production companies find Toronto locations is closing down

-Comprised of more than 700,000 images of Toronto and GTA locations

-The company will still operate a digital photo service temporarily, but will likely close within several months

- Has been used by scouts for the film Jumper and for the hit CTV/CBS series Flashpoint, which is shot in Toronto

Toronto International Film Festival

-Will be held Thursday, September 10 to Saturday, September 19, 2009

- Visitors from all over the world come to see Canadian indie film features as well as North American/worldwide debuts

- Films from as many as 64 countries are shown

- More than 340,000 admissions expected

Los Angeles Film and Television Cluster

The Los Angeles Film Festival takes place for ten days in June, annually.

- Shows off the best that America has to offer in the film industry,

-Draws in approximately 85,000 people from Los Angeles and all over the world

- Includes live performances and special events, as well as more than 100 other films being featured

- Film and television industry says it needs government help to remain in New York.

- News conference at Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens, where film and television workers gathered to see if the incentive program would in fact be expanded
