Introduction

This portion of the document contains important information required to perform to ‘Export-Import Control module’ lab.

Procedure

Step Action

1

Read the following IMPORTANT information carefully.

Decide if you will be performing labs for C200E (and Series A I/O modules) OR C300 (and Series C I/O Modules). You can opt for either one but not both.

_______ C200E (and Series A I/O modules)

_______ C300 (and Series C I/O Modules)

2

ATTENTION

You must perform the remaining steps of this lab if you skipped any of the prior lessons of this course, else skip the remaining instructions and proceed to the next lab.

Locate the “GUI_DB_Load” Shortcut on desktop.

1. Double click “GUI_DB_Load” Shortcut to launch the import utility.

2. In Controller drop down select either C200 or C300 Controller (as per the option selected in step#1).

Export/Import a Control Module

Practice

Objective

• Use the Import and Export functionality of Control Builder to incorporate parts from one Control Builder Project into another Project

• Export the Control Module 11_TI20

• Import Analog Indicator points

• Use Bulk Edit Parameters to change parameter values

Prerequisites

• Experion PKS server or client machine loaded with Experion PKS Engineering Tools

• 11_TI20 CM configured in Control Builder

• Exported files of the Analog Indicator CMs for SIM C200E available in the path: C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Honeywell\Experion PKS\ Ixport\C200E\L11_Productivity tools in CB

• Exported files of the Analog Indicator CMs for SIM C300 available in the path: C:\ Users\Public\Public Documents\Honeywell\Experion PKS\ Ixport\C300\L11_Prodcutivity tools in CB

• Control Builder running with at least one Project/Monitor tree window open

• SIM_C200E/SIMC300 Controller and IOMs configured

Introduction

A Project file can contain many items, such as IOMs and CMs, for up to 20 controllers. From Control Builder, use the Import/Export tool to copy some or all of one project to another.

• Export - copies the designated portion of a project from Control Builder to a specified directory

• Import - copies the designated CMs into Control Builder’s Project Tab
