Dave Susko returned to California in 2011
with Baker Hughes as the Technical Manager

designs stimulations treatments, zonal
isolation solutions and provides other
technical support relating to hydraulic
fracturing, acidizing, and cementing. Since
returning to California, he presented
numerous times on the subject of well stimulation to a wide
variety of audiences including legislators, teachers, students,

Production and Operations.
Prior to his return California, he was a technical instructor for BJ
Services and Baker Hughes based in Houston. For five years, he
traveled around the globe teaching courses on the subjects of
well stimulation and cementing. During that time, he co-authored
a paper on building and maintaining effective training programs in
today’s evolving petroleum industry.
In 1995, Dave began his career here in Bakersfield as a field

Community Involvement
API Adopt A Highway
On Saturday April 23rd, 13 volunteers met for the first of two API Adopt-A-
Highway events in 2016. We had breakfast and socializing 7:00am to 8:00am
at the Golden Bull restaurant. Then after a quick safety meeting the volunteers
filled 23 bags of trash in just 90 minutes. After regrouping we determined that
Charlie Johnson found the most unique item, an oversized load sign, and Gary
Watts and his Daughter Alexandra found the most valuable Item, a C and J well
servicing magnetic sign. Thanks to all the participants: Gary Watts, Alexandra
Watts, Coleton Kerley, Hal Bopp, Scott Bender, Yolanda Villarreal, Robert
Villarreal, Jimmy Dean, Charlie Johnson, Casey Knaak, Chris Knaak, Aimee
Knaak.

Once again, the API golf was a great for all of those who came to play and socialize during the
day! We couldn’t have done it without all of the golfers, volunteers, sponsorships, and food and
beverage vendors who came to together to put on this event. A special recognition goes out to
the top teams and individuals at Stockdale Country Club and Sundale Country Club.

FRACTURED — A bold new film from the director of spOILed!
FRACTURED makes the case that virtually every word and phrase we use when we talk about energy
production and consumption is wrong and that these incorrect terms cause people to believe in expensive,
dangerous illusions. “What the Frack,” “Fossil Fuel,” “Alternative Energy,” “Clean Energy,” “Climate Change
Denier,” “Mother Nature”—all of these terms and others cause people to irrationally believe that
traditional energy sources are bad. The film flips these terms and exposes the motivations and hypocrisy of
anti-energy activist groups and outright frauds such as the films GasLand and GasLand II.
The film is produced in the same entertaining, provocative and highly informative way that audiences
appreciated with “spOILed.”
The documentary is shot and we are in the home stretch of editing. We need your help to finish the film
and spread it’s pro-energy message far and wide by participating in the Fractured crowd funding campaign.
We hope you will participate in the crowd fund campaign and tell everyone in your network about this
important film.
