I learned creativity can be taught. Having a creative teacher made me look at PR in a more creative manner.

9. Learning also happens outside of the pages of books.

I learned that the best way to learn public relations is to become familiar with what’s going on around me.

8. I learned that public relations professionals have the power change the direction of consumer thought.

I learned that a good pr person/firm can control public reaction to crisis as well as problems companies and governments may have.

I learned that being able to write in proper fashion is necessary to be a part of the public relations world.

To be an effective pr professional you must do proper research about your event.

I learned that I have to learn more about the new forms of communications like the internet.

Prior to this class I thought someone in public relations worked with celebrities to create press and make the public view that celebrity in a particular manner. I now know public relations is important to any company and makes sure that messages get out clearly and properly.

I learned what a media kit was and why they were important.

2. I learned that you must think outside the box.

Intro to PR has taught me that I must think outside the box to get a job. I have to create a portfolio and think of creative ways to market myself.
