Is your child the next Tim Cahill? BUDDING FOOTBALL STARS WANTED

FOXTEL has teamed up with international football star Tim Cahill to develop an academy which provides young players with the inspiration to be their best and follow their football ambitions.

Taking place in Sydney on 22 and 23 June, 50 budding football superstars between the ages of 6 and 11 will be chosen to participate in this two-day Academy. Each of the win-ner’s will also get to bring a friend with them who is new to football.

Tim Cahill, along with his hand-picked coaches has designed a program to give players the opportunity to improve their football skills whilst leading an active and healthy lifestyle.

Guenter’s top tips for players What to do in wet weather

EVEN though many of you won’t get to play an official game tomorrow, if the sun’s out, you can still get the kids to have a bit of a run around. Contact some of your fellow age group coaches and organise a game for Sat or Sun. Killarney 1 is open, or use a park. You all know what it’s like when the kids have been locked inside due to rain! For training, have a wet weather alternative. See if you can get into a scout hall. Or do an indoor session at the club house. Get access via the web site, and use the projector to show YouTube football clips (share some of your favourites via the FKFC Facebook web site or via email). Or do a little football quiz (make it up, Google or contact me) or even talk a bit about tactics. It all works, it makes the sessions reliable (always on), and it helps understand and enjoy the game more.

All Development Squad and the Goalie Tainting Sessions continue to be on as fol-lows at Melwood. Open to all – including coaches, mums, dads, grandparents. Just rock up.
