Introduction• India is one of the world's oldest civilizations which
possess a huge population with different religions and
cultures such as Hindus, Jains, Sikhs Muslims and few
minor nations across India.
• Indian culture is always entwined with festivals, as they
think festival is a tool to bring life happiness, feels
belongingness and make life a celebration.
Diwali
Diwali is the most important festival in India, commonly
known as Festival of Lights. Indians pay tribute to
Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth by huge fireworks, lit
candles and colourful rangoli artworks on floor in Diwali.
Ganesh Chaturthi
• Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival celebrated for
ten days to honor the elephant headed god
Ganesha's birthday. He is known as the lord of Arts,
Sciences, Wisdom and beginnings.
Holi
• Holi, the Festival of Colors is widely celebrated
in India and it is the most colorful and
happiest religious festival of the Hindus.
Navaratri, Dussehra, and Durga Puja
• Navaratri, which means “nine nights” is the
celebration of truth over evil. The three forms
of the goddess-Lakshmi, Durga and Saraswathi
is honored by this.
Onam
• Onam is the harvest festival in the state of
Kerala celebrated with great joy and
enthusiasm.
Krishna Janmashtami / Govinda
• Krishna Janmashtami is a religious festival to
celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna with great
devotion by Hindus.
Mahashivratri
• Mahashivratri festival or the “Night of Shiva” is
celebrated to honor Lord Shiva, with great
religious devotion by Hindus in India.
Rakshabandhan
• This Hindu festival celebrates the bond of
love and protection between sisters and
brothers.
