Team  Tooskee

Page 2: Tooskee: an overview

This is Bob.!

Page 3: Tooskee: an overview

Bob is!busy.!

-Inconsistent schedule -Tons of work -Doesn’t plan meals in advance

Page 4: Tooskee: an overview

He never learned how to properly

get organized in the kitchen.

So he tosses away

food he never eats

Page 5: Tooskee: an overview

This hurts him in the wallet and in the stomach.!

The average American loses $400/year

through food waste

Keeping organized is a key to

eating healthy

Page 6: Tooskee: an overview

But what if Bob had a little help?!

Page 7: Tooskee: an overview

Meet Tooskee, his new home food management

system.

Page 8: Tooskee: an overview

Tooskee is a touch display for the kitchen synced with

his smartphone.

Page 9: Tooskee: an overview

When Bob checks out at the grocery store and swipes his loyalty card,

Tooskee automatically updates his

food inventory.

-Apples

-Eggplant

-Frozen Pizza

Page 10: Tooskee: an overview

Tooskee sorts new food items into virtual storage units and calculates

expiration dates for perishable

products.

Page 11: Tooskee: an overview

Since Bob has access to what’s in his fridge anytime, anywhere, he can

shop smarter and stop overbuying!

Page 12: Tooskee: an overview

Tooskee’s smart algorithms also suggest recipes with ingredients he

already owns, prioritizing ones about

to expire.

So now Bob has an incentive to

use all his food, and it also

prevents him from relying on

eating out too often.

Page 13: Tooskee: an overview

With Tooskee, Bob wastes less and gets more out of

the food he buys.

Page 14: Tooskee: an overview

With enough Bobs out there, industry will respond,

and food production will

adapt.

Page 15: Tooskee: an overview

And if we save only 1/4th of the food we waste, we

could feed every starving

person on the planet!

Page 16: Tooskee: an overview

How cool is that? (Pretty cool!)

Page 17: Tooskee: an overview

Why will this work?

Market Trends

Smartphone penetration, heightened food waste

awareness, and high food prices have created the perfect market conditions for the introduction of a

device like Tooskee.

Let’s Make it Happen!

Page 23: Tooskee: an overview

ASSUMPTION: Tooskee takes care of updating the system when new food is purchased, but users need to delete items as they cook or throw them away. We need to test how to make this process as frictionless as possible.!!EXPERIMENT: We will stick giant posters depicting owned food items on the fridges of at least 3 households. Users will be asked to cross items as they use them and we will track their behaviour and adapt the process if necessary. !

PrototypingLow-tech food logs | Front end wireframes | Full prototype!

Page 24: Tooskee: an overview

ASSUMPTION: Tooskee has to provide real value to consumers by saving them money, and we need to be able to quantify by how much. !!EXPERIMENT: Using polished front-end wireframes, we will get consumer input and perform the back-end work ourselves. We will manually look up for recipes with relevant ingredients, alert them when an item is about to expire, and much more. We will get feedback on how valuable the device was before having to code anything.!

PrototypingLow-tech food logs | Front end wireframes | Full prototype!

Page 25: Tooskee: an overview

ASSUMPTION: With a fully working prototype, we will be able to test the performance of every feature of our system. !!EXPERIMENT: Using an already existing generic android tablet for our hardware prototype, we will code apps for both the display device and the smartphone, and test the overall system with as many households as we can! !
