LAST GAME - CHICAGO: The Steel defeated the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders by a 4-2 margin on Friday night at Fox Valley Ice Arena. Chicago went 2-for-5 with the man advantage (40.0%) while killing off 5-of-6 (83.3%) infractions taken. The RoughRiders outshot the Steel 31-30 on the night. Two goals were tallied by Matty De St. Phalle while Liam Devlin and Owen Power each picked up a marker. Victor Ostman extended his share of the league lead in wins to 11 after making 29 saves. With the victory, Chicago has won nine of their last 10 performances.

LAST GAME - CEDAR RAPIDS: Despite out-shooting Chicago 31-30, the RoughRiders could not complete the comeback to beat the Steel, falling 4-2 on Friday Night at Fox Valley Ice Arena. The club notched one power-play goal in six chances (16.7%) and surrendered two goals-against infivepenaltiestaken(60%).Alex Gagne and Nikolai Mayorov reached the back of the net for Cedar Rapids as Derek Mullahy turned away 26 shots in the loss.

AGAINST THE ROUGHRIDERS: The Steel have a 43-50-4-3 all-time mark against the RoughRiderswitha20-25-2-2recordastheroadteam.Chicagowent3-1-1infiveregularseasonmatchups against Cedar Rapids last year before defeating the RoughRiders in the second round of the 2019 Clark Cup Playoffs, winning the best-of-5 series by a 3-1 margin.

POWER SURGE: With a goal in the win on Friday night, defenseman Owen Power extended his lead among United States Hockey League blueliners with 22 points (7G, 15A) in 21 games on the year, just three points shy of matching his season total through 58 appearances a season ago. The Mississauga, Ontario, native has reached the scoresheet in three straight games with two markers and two helpers over that stretch.

SEEING CEDAR RAPIDS: Cedar Rapids (10-10-1-0, 19 pts) has fallen in four straight games, their longest skid of the season. In the loss on Friday night, Nikolai Mayorov factored in on bothgoalswithatuckandanassist,pushinghisseasontotalto15points(10G,5A),tiedforfirston the team. Netminder Derek Mullahy started between the pipes for Cedar Rapids on Friday night, dropping his record to 6-7-0-1 with a 2.80 goals-against average and a save percentage of .911. The Scituate, Mass, native has totaled the fourth-most minutes of action among league netminders with 901 between the pipes this year.
