TOGETHER, WE CAN!Please Become a Friend of the Plex TODAY!

In total, our community needs to raise approximately $16.5 million through individual, corporate and government contributions to build the multiplex.

Of this amount, the Town of Niverville will be contributing $5 million which will be done

without raising taxes. This contribution will be drawn from future Federal Gas Tax

Grant revenue and the Multiplex Levy (that replaced the Recreation Infrastructure Levy).

Here’s how you can donate:Email - [email protected]

FRIENDS OF THE PLEX

With this $5 million kick-start from the Town of Niverville, we are hopeful that the entire community and other levels of government will embrace the remaining fundraising goal of $11.5 million by giving generously to this important project.

The $16.5 million project will have $8 million of economic spin-off in the region for a total economic impact of $24 million for the region.

And will create over 100 jobs for the region during the construction phase!

Every donation, large and small, will help us provide year-round facilities to support all ages, today and into the future.

Executive SummaryThe Town of Niverville is one of the youngest and fastest growing communities in southern Manitoba. Located only 30 km south of Winnipeg and 23 km west of Steinbach, makes Niverville a desirable community for those not wanting to live in a city but close to it. In 2011, the census showed our population at 3,540, today it is estimated to be approximately 5,000 people. The growth of the Town has left residents requesting facilities to keep our young and old active and thriving. As a result the Town is looking to build a new multiplex that would include a sport and multi-use facility, adjoining arena and a lobby and administration space including an indoor playground. These new, year-round facilities will help meet the needs of our growing community.

Niverville is planning to build a recreation complex that will feature three facilities including: • A new, year-round sport and recreation multiplex; • An adjoining new arena and; • A refurbishment of the existing arena (to be further studied and budgeted

separately).

Once completed, these public spaces will offer residents of all ages access to a great blend of recreation, sport, cultural and community amenities, to meet the needs of our growing community.

THE MULTIPLEXWith an impressive 36,000 square feet of floor space, the Multiplex will be able to accommodate a variety of sports including soccer, basketball, volleyball and badminton. It will also offer an indoor walking/running track, playground for children as well as meeting rooms and a multi-purpose area for fitness, educational and cultural programming.

Multiplex features include: • 100’x150’ indoor soccer field • FIBA basketball courts (convertible to 4 volleyball courts) • Walking/running track • Badminton courts • Warm-up area • Training area • Netting/curtain separation between sporting activities • Dressing rooms with washrooms and showers • Officials’ dressing room with washroom and shower • Equipment storage • Mezzanine level with seating for 250 spectators • 14,000 square foot common space with: o Children’s playground o Casual seating area o Viewing areas into both the Multiplex and Arena o Floor “shuffleboard”
