“Sometimes the jokes can be re-ally mean and obscene, and par-ticularly directed at a person inthe audience,” ani Reyes patung-kol sa mga komedyanteng tumu-tumbok sa isang parokyanong gi-nagawang katatawanan ng iba.
Aminado si Reyes na dadaan sabutas ng karayom ang kanyangpanukala pero makabubuti umanoito “so we can figure out how todo the regulating.”

Maegan Aguilar slams dad
She denounced all her dad’sdetractors and came to his de-fense in my column back then.
Now Maegan is singing a dif-ferent tune.
Seems she is over and donewith being the “Anak” of KaFreddie. Since she’s my “soulsister,” my heart goes out to her.
But in the spirit of fairness,of course, I will also get her fa-ther’s side on this burning issue.
I wish I had a magic wand tomake everything okay betweenMaegan and her dad. But itlooks like the domestic fronthas turned into a battlefront.
What I knowIf there’s one thing that I
learned from being a parent, it’sthat I should not be too muchof a mother to be a friend tomy kids. And, as a daughter, Ilearned that since our parentsare old, they cannot bend asmuch so we should be the onesto reach out, even if it hurtssometimes.
Hopefully, the term“Anak” won’t be just the ti-tle of Freddie’s timelesshit henceforth, but re-
main a term of endearment forMaegan, if and when they de-cide to patch things up and letfamily prevail.
Here’s Maegan’s heart-
wrenching story:“My dad threw me out of his
house along with my partnerAli and my two daughters(Anaya Jaira and Mahi Vae) onMay 12 which was also thesixth-month birth anniversary ofMahi.
Rotten veggies“He got mad because the
vegetables that he kept in therefrigerator got rotten. I toldhim I did not touch the veggiesbecause I knew he would getupset.
“He also flared up because Ihadn’t paid the P1,500 I bor-rowed from him. I used themoney to buy diapers and milkfor Mahi.
“I get only P4,000 as salaryin [the bar] Ka Freddie’s TomasMorato. Then he gets mad thatwe [are] always cash-strapped.It’s his fault. I am underpaid.
“But when it [concerns] thefamily of his young wife … hesends them P9,000 weekly evenif they don’t need the money.Me, all I got were hurtfulwords.
“My family and I are nowstaying with a bandmate untilwe find a place of our own.Knowing my dad, he will claimthat I ran away. But why wouldI endanger the lives of my kids, just because of my pride?
“He just threw us out—hisdaughter and grandkids—tolive in the streets.
“I’m cutting my ties with myTatay from now on. Anyway, healready has a new family. Truth
is, Freddie is a selfishman. I’m done
covering upfor him.
“For him,all that I’ve
done amounts to nothing. I askall music fans to stop support-ing Freddie Aguilar and stopgoing to [his bar] Ka Freddie’s.His earnings will just go to hisyoung wife and her family.
“Hire and support us instead. My brothers Jonan, Jeriko andI need to be free from the clawsof our father.
“I have so much more to ex-pose. Now that I’ve decided tocut ties from him, I will tell thewhole truth.
“He is a bad man and a neg-ligent father. I had an awfulchildhood. Not any one of us,his children, did well in showbusiness because he did every-thing to derail our careers. Welack confidence because hewanted us to fail, so that wewould be forever at his mercy.
“I always defended him …even if I got harassed by DOMs(dirty old men) because my fa-ther married a minor. I took ev-erything in, out of blind loyalty.
“And he threw us out of thehouse just because of rottenvegetables. What kind of a fa-ther and grandfather is he?Ibang klase siya.
Nanny conspiracy“On May 17, his wife’s
younger sister somehow con-vinced our nannies to abandonus and return to their house. They wanted me to have a hardtime and give up. He wantedme to leave my kids in hishouse so he could claim thatI’m an unfit mother.
“I think he knew that Iwould speak to the media, sohe wants to manipulate the sit-uation and make it appear thathe’s the perfect father.
“I’m appealing to Gabrielaand our Muslim brothers and
sisters to stop supporting Fred-die Aguilar. I need help in thisfight. Someone has to stand upto him and tell him that he’swrong.
“He’s been wrong ever sincehe left my mother 17 years ago.
“My past statement of sup-port for my father’s marriage toa young girl was a complete lie.I was never in favor [of that]. Igot hurt when he married herwithout telling me or otherfamily members.
“All he thinks about is him-self. He’s the only one who mat-ters in this world. He would of-ten tell us that we were worthnothing because we were notthe ones who composed thesong Anak.
“I was mentally and emo-tionally damaged in his house. Iwill never return, even if hethreatens to have me killed.
“To top it off, he has a one-year-old daughter in Pangasi-nan. We have a half-sister thathe hid from us because it wouldbe yet another issue againsthim.
“I pity my one-year-old sisterand her mom. They were alsoclueless about my dad’s plan tomarry the under-aged girl. Theywere shocked. They got ha-rassed by their neighbors be-cause of what happened. Theycalled my half-sister’s mom allsorts of bad names.
“The kid won’t even get abirthday celebration this yearbecause his young wife won’tallow it. She is brain-washingmy dad. They want to controlmy dad and his money.
“My dad lets her get awaywith it, poisoning his mind. Is ithard to see that all she wants ishis money? He’s 61 years old.”
By Dolly Anne Carvajal
W HEN singer Freddie Aguilar got embroiled ina controversy last October after announcingthat he was marrying a 17-year-old girl, his
daughter (and fellow singer) Maegan Aguilar swiftlytook up the cudgels for him.
“My dad threw me out of hishouse along with my partner Aliand my two daughters (AnayaJaira and Mahi Vae) on May12 which was also thesixth-month birth anniversaryof Mahi.”
MOMENTS like this with her father Freddie may be a thing of the past for Maegan Aguilar.
“I’m cutting myties with my Tatayfrom now on.Anyway, healready has a newfamily. Truth is,Freddie is a selfishman. I’m donecovering up forhim.”

Amoy grand slamang San Mig CoffeeNi Ted Reynoso
‘‘There’s a paral-lel between this
San Mig team and that Alas-ka grandslam championteam of 1996,” ani Cone.
