Play the devil’s advocate by asking yourself “what would have to be true for this to

work?” for each solution you created. Run small experiments on your proposed

solutions to see if they hold promise.

Try the 10/10/10 technique, where you think about how you’ll feel about this decision in 10 minutes, 10 months and 10 years from now. Ensure that you are making decisions that will make you successful over time, not just in the heat of the moment.

Attain distance before deciding.
