Language and Culture

Pidgin Pidgin =a grammatically simplified form of a

language, used for communication between people not sharing a common language.

Pidgins have a limited vocabulary, some elements of which are taken from local languages, and are not native languages, but arise out of language contact between speakers of other languages.

Language and Culture Language changes over time

Phrases become “so yesterday”, reasons: change culture, historical events, but the main is of course, technology

Because language is so intangible, changes over time are not only unavoidable, they also are common

email, texting, and Facebook have led to new words forming, new grammatical changes, and other modifications that are both subtle and noticeable.

Language, though. Is constantly evolving with culture, and as technology becomes a larger and more influential part of our culture, it also becomes a larger and more influential part of the English language.
