God’s Word STILL convicts hearts...even in 2020
How many souls do you personally know that were taught, converted, and baptized into the Lord’s body over the last six to nine months? The bride of Christ has truly been blessed with additional souls, let alone in 2020 and better still, for our immediate MCOC family. Doesn’t it give you pause, followed by instant comfort that regardless of the events of 2020, God’s word is STILL quick and living, STILL powerful and active (Hebrews 4:12) even in 2020?
It makes me think no matter how challenging, chaotic, or possibly unstable the daily grind is, I am assured "for he who promised is faithful." (Hebrews 10:23). God's word will never become outdated, never become
old-fashioned nor become endangered or extinct. It is always in season.
The gospel truth in the New Testament (I Corinthians. 15:1-4) STILL pricks (or stings) hearts...even in 2020. The Hebrew writer states “It is sharper than any two-edged sword”, which shows its cutting ability to "penetrate the soul and spirit." The word of God allows us to see who we are, guilty. Now THAT'S powerful! Those in attendance on the day of Pentecost, could not avoid asking that Biblical question, "What must we do to be saved?" Return now to 2020, the same question applies.
As the body of believers of the Memorial family, let's encourage one another to pray continually for the receptive hearts of potential converted Christ-followers.
