To Whom It May Concern: It has come to my attention that Robert Nichols has expressed an interest with your organization. Please let me take a moment to explain why I think Mr. Nichols would be an added value to you. During the past several years, specifically during 2012-2013, I have been a supervisor over Mr. Nichols. The Military Police Company he and I serve in was activated to serve in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. As usual, the unit had a hard time filling certain positions of leadership. When this happens, the unit selects the best person to fill those positions. Mr. Nichols was selected as the best of his peers and put into the position of Sergeant. As a Specialist, Mr. Nichols was just that, he was the best at his duty position. As a Sergeant though, he not only had to be the best in his job, he was also charged with the safety and security of two other Soldiers. Normally Specialists go through several intense weeks of training and knowledge before they are entrusted with such responsibility. Mr. Nichols demonstrated that he could hold and perform those duties without the training, a feat not many can accomplish. As a Platoon Sergeant, I had approximately ten Sergeants under me that worked for three Staff Sergeants. Mr. Nichols was by far the best one out of the bunch, even though he was the only Specialist. Mr. Nichols is the type of person who eagerly accepts new challenges, completes those challenges with minimal supervision, and can relay that knowledge onto others easily.

To Whom It May Concern:

It has come to my attention that Robert Nichols has expressed an interest with your organization.

I highly recommend Mr. Nichols for a position within your organization. He has clearly demonstrated that he can accomplish any task put before him. Mr. Nichols honorably served his nation during Operation Enduring Freedom as a Sergeant in the United States Army. Truly he is an asset you cannot afford to pass on.
