2015 saw the completion of a number of landmark projects ranging from the new Singapore Airlines terminal at Perth Airport to the state-of-the-art maternity ward at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

Design Language

Each and every luminaire range we offer shares a universal design language in form and in finish. Specifying complimentary luminaires to create a cohesive look and feel for a project is a seamless task with our product families.

Minimalistic in our approach to product design, each product has been refined to present striking lines and shapes to complement any space. Our spectrum of textured and aluminium finishes have been extensively researched to be mixed and matched without compromise.

Whilst our luminaire range is extensive, our design team is continually focused on developing cohesive families that retain a consistent design language.

Track Lighting

As part of our continued holistic approach to application, we are introducing a new category of luminaires to our range – track lighting. In many applications, flexibility is an important consideration for environments that have conistently changing requirements.

After rigorous research and development in 2015, we are excited to launch four track light families in 2016. Versatility and performance were key considerations in the design process, ensuring that any size and requirement for a project can be met.

Already utilised in a variety projects across Australia, these track lights are set to be an ideal fit for hospitality, retail, cultural and education projects. See page 66 for more details about this new luminaire category.

With each new project, we look to bring our wealth of experience in design and engineering. In 2016, a number of innovative new projects are under construction that span over hospitality, retail, multi-residential and education sectors.

These new projects, product ranges and expanded existing product ranges are showcased in this 2016 catalogue. As an indicator of our pursuit to continually innovate, this catalogue represents a significant change in design and usability. Improved content structure, revised categorisation and the addition of more specifications such as colour deviation and power factor will make specifying luminaries for projects more streamlined than ever.

Commercial Luminaires

The transition to LED lighting technology in commercial lighing is accelerating. Our design and engineering teams have been busy developing new product ranges to be at the forefront of commercial LED lighting.

We are excited to launch our new range of street lights that have the potential to revolutionise public and road lighting. The replacement of existing street lights with LED technology has the potential to reduce electricity requirements drastically in the coming years. Class-leading lumen efficacy and durability were at the forefront of our minds when developing these new street lights.

In addition to new street lighting, our commercial luminaire range has been expanded into commercially focused recessed luminaires and versatile wall/ceiling mounted luminaires. The Genesis, Quantum and Parallax Series represent the next genereation in led technology for commercial grade recessed luminaires.

For a luminaire family that spans wall mounted and surface mounted options, look no further than the Zeron and Athena Series. Square and rounded respectively, these luminaires can be used in conjunction on both walls and ceilings for a project, to create a truly cohesive look.

AURA Series

Working alongside award-winning design company Noovo, we are pleased to have recently launched a new signature feature lighting range — the AURA Series. Showcasing a perfect balance of form and function, these spherical, polished hand-spun steel luminaires come in a range of configurations guaranteed to make a statement.

Unveiled at Furnitex in 2015, the initial feedback on the AURA Series has been phenomenal amongst architects, designers and engineers. A number of projects are either underway or completed, which will see AURA Series luminaires pop up all around Australia and through Asia.

With wall mounted, surface mounted and pendants options available, the versatility of this product range has been a key feature that has appealed to designers. A landmark restaurant and function centre in South Perth has put this versatility to good use — utilising both the pendant and wall mounted options.

The Wire Selection Table provided is based on a maximum allowable voltage drop of 5%. Electrical designs which allow greater than 5% voltage drop, reduce rated light output beyond acceptable levels.

The importance of the proper wire selection is demonstrated below. Both examples have the same total watts and identical overall lengths of wire run, yet require different wire sizes, or multiple wire runs, to operate within the 5% maximum voltage drop Lighting criteria.

1) Locate and plot fixtures on plan. Choose the lighting equipment necessary to create the desired lighting effects. Mark lamp wattage for each fixture location.

2) Identify potential transformer locations. The ideal locations are those which provide for the shortest possible low voltage distances (inconspicuous areas, behind rocks, shrubbery, etc., within the landscape).

3) Add the total wattage for the proposed low voltage run. Measure the wire lengths from the transformer to the fixture locations. Find the distance to the “Center of Load” of the low voltage run.

4) Using the Lighting Wire Selection Table, select the wattage column which applies. Look down the column stopping at a distance, in meters, that is equal or greater than the “Center of Load” distance. Look across to find the proper wire size for your layout.
