To all our first class boys and girls, We hope you are all enjoying the lovely weather and that you are getting lots of fresh air and exercise. We hope that you all enjoyed your Easter eggs and we look forward to hearing about them when we get back to school. We miss you all and look forward to seeing you all again soon. Below is some work that you can do at home. If you cannot print off the sheets just copy the work or write the answers in a copy or sheets that you have at home. If you are finding the work too difficult or you think there is too much work, do not worry. Just do the work that you are able to do. If you wish to contact any of the first class teachers please don’t hesitate to do so. Our email addresses are: Cathy O’ Connor [email protected] Breege Gibbons [email protected] Joan O’ Shea [email protected] Continue reading a book at home for about 15 minutes a day. Make sure to ask an adult at home to help with difficult words. Our Oral Language Theme is The Rescue Services. You could write a story about what services you would need if you fell from a tree and broke your leg. We have attached some lists of words to help you with your spellings. See if you can add to the lists and come up with more words with the ‘oi’ ,’oy’ and ‘or’ sounds. In grammar we are doing plurals adding ‘s’ and ‘es’. We have included two stories from the Starlight combined skills book. If you collected the school books you can use the book. In maths, you would have been moving on to weight with Ms. Heneghan. Maybe Mammy would let you use her kitchen scales to see the difference between heavier and lighter items. you could also find things that weigh the same as 1kg for example how many apples do you need to weigh a kg. Continue to learn your tables. We have also included more sheets for you to work on addition and subtraction. In Gaeilge continue with the An Teilifís pages in your Bua na Cainte.
